Since 1998, a new Pocket
Monsters
movie has premiered in Japan every July. The movies boast bigger
budgets, more epic storylines, and sneak peeks at future generations of
pokemon.
In the U.S., the movies went from being released theatrically (Movies
01 - 05) to being released directly to DVD. The amount a movie
gets edited varies from film to film; some movies remove all the
Japanese music, some have heavy rewrites, some are cropped to 4:3, and
some have missing scenes.
Since the Pikachu shorts were aired alongside the movies, they are
included on this page as well.
All movies below are listed in the order in which they originally
premiered in Japanese theaters.
