Screenshots from the original theatrical version, taken from the Japanese LaserDisc release, are on the left while ones from the Kanzenban version, taken from the DVD release, are on the right. Satoshi's dissolve here is done with computer effects in the Kanzenban.



The speed and the order that the Pokémon come out are different in the Kanzenban. This scene is also digitally colored in the new version instead of being hand colored like it was in the theatrical one.







The Pokémon below have all been colored in. A few of their positions have been moved around as well.

The Pokémon in the Kanzenban retain their detail even as they move way, way into the background. The same cannot be said for the theatrical version Pokémon.
