The final chapter of Pocket Monsters B2 - W2 ~ A New Legend ~, Video Game news, and more
September 24th, 2012

Dogasu @ 06:40 JST --  The final chapter of Kanda Satoshi's Pocket Monsters B2 - W2 ~ A New Legend ~ was released in the issue of CoroCoro Comics that came out last week.  Here's the summary!

October 2012

I kind of figured the series would be a short one since they seemed to be rushing through so many things, but it's still weird to see it end after only five chapters.  A graphic novel collection is due to come out November 28th, according to Shogakukan's website.

What did you guys think of this series?  Did you think it was a fun little adventure, or do you think it was nothing but wasted potential?

Next, in video game news, I've added entries to the Video Games section for Rhythm Hunter Harmo Knight and Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon ~ The Magnagate and the Endless Labyrinth

Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon ~ The Magnagate and the Endless Labyrinth

The former is the one I'm going to talk about here for a minute because I'm pretty sure you've already read plenty about the latter.  Rhythm Hunter Harmo Knight is a "rhythm action game" that has you navigate forward scrolling stages by jumping and attacking your way past the obstacles that come flying your way.  The reason I'm including it on this site is because it features five tracks from the Pocket Monsters games as bonus stages.  Those tracks - Gym (ジム), Route 26 (26ばんどうろ), Bicycle (じてんしゃ), Champion Battle! (せんとう!チャンピオン), and Trainer Battle! (せんとう!トレーナー) - offer what is probably going to be the closest we're ever going to get to a Theatrhythm Final Fantasy type game for this franchise, so of course I had to check it out.  The fact that the rest of the game is really good is also a big plus in my book.  I would be very surprised if this game didn't get an English-language release in the very near feature (all the voiceover work's already in English!), so be on the lookout for it!

Finally, news on the English version of Kyurem vs. The Sacred Swordsman Keldeo has been added to that movie's page.  There's also a trailer floating around that features Keldeo's terrible, terrible dub voice, so you can check that out as well if you hate your ears for some reason.  There's no mention of the Pikachu short being dubbed, but seeing how TPCI acts as though the ANA shorts don't exist I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up not getting dubbed as well.  The movie airs in the U.S. on December 8th.

"Beartic Mountain Feud!"
September 17th, 2012

Dogasu @ 23:47 JST --  Oh look, a new comparison!  That only took *checks calendar* holy shit it's been more than six months since my last real comparison.  That's not cool at all.

So without further ado, here's the write-up for "Beartic Mountain Feud!"

"Beartic Mountain Feud!"

It took me six months to do this comparison because I'm a terrible slacker and have also sometimes been busy, but also because this is a pretty awful episode and I dreaded having to work on it.  The Battle Subway two-parter is up next, which I like in a "love to hate it" kind of way, so I hopefully won't take another half a year to do that one.

Also, for those of you who care, I've updated the box office information for Kyurem vs. The Sacred Swordsman Keldeo for what will probably be the last time.  It's made about a billion yen (~ $12 million US) less than its predecessor, which is really a shame since I liked the Kyurem better a whole lot better than the Victini movies.

We should be getting more information about next year's Genosect movie in December.

Manga Chapters!  Movie News!  Exclamation Marks!
September 1st, 2012

Dogasu @ 18:27 JST --  I'm back from the U.S. and I'm all settled in.  Let's get this month kicked off right.

First, here's the summary for chapter of Pocket Monsters Special that was printed in last month's issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!.  In this chapter, N faces off against the Champion Adeku while Black reunites with White.  Pretty exciting stuff!

CoroCoro Ichiban! October 2012

The manga's official website has also announced that a special chapter of Pocket Monsters Special will be printed in the next issue of Pokemon Fan, on sale September 20th.

Next, here's the summary for the Pocket Monsters B2 - W2 ~ A New Legend ~ chapter that came out while I was back home.  In it, Arata's pokemon evolve for no reason, Genosect learns the power of friendship, and Dr. Zeno's Scouter shows us that Kanda Satoshi is apparently a huge fan of Dragon Ball Z.

I've also updated the List of TV Episodes.

Finally, I've added the box office information for the Kyurem movie's sixth and seventh weeks in theaters to the site.

"Kyurem vs. The Sacred Swordsman Keldeo"

The movie's doing alright for itself, all things considered.  I don't think it's going to top how last year's movies did money wise, but then again we only have one movie this year instead of two.

I'm kind of tired of doing these "report on this" and "translate this" and "summarize that" type of updates, so I'm going to try to do something more creative for next time.  Maybe even a...gasp!...comparison?????
