V (no parenthesis, apparently)
November 15th, 2013

Dogasu @ 06:38 JST -- As I continue to digest the Nintendo 3DS Pokémon X Y Super Music Collection a number of new CDs have been announced for me to spend even more money on!

V (Volt) - Regular Edition
V (Volt) - Limited Edition A V (Volt) - Limited Edition B

These three CDs are the singles for Yuusuke's V (Volt) (which is just going by the title "V" in this release even though it's been written out as V (ボルト) everywhere else), the current opening theme to the TV series Pocket Monsters XY.  From left to right up here is the regular edition, the "First Run Limited Edition A" that includes a DVD with two music videos for the song (one live action and one featuring the animation from the TV series), and the "First Run Limited Edition B" that includes a DVD with the music video for the other single on the CD The 850 Yen an Hour Santa Claus.  The "First Run Limited Edition A" is the only one of the three that has a karaoke version of the opening theme.  The CDs will be out on December 4th, 2013.

The CD Guide's been updated accordingly.

I've also updated the List of TV Episodes with a new episode title.

With any luck I'll have translations of the liner notes from the aforementioned Nintendo 3DS Pokémon X Y Super Music Collection up later tonight.

Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: Super Music Collection
November 12th, 2013

Dogasu @ 19:22 JST -- Well, that was quick.  Looks like "Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: Super Music Collection" is now up on both the American and U.K. iTunes store.

Pokémon X & Pokémon Y: Super Music Collection

The entire soundtrack, which is going to retail for 2,625 yen (about US $27) when it comes out in Japan tomorrow, is being offered for only US $9.99.  That's a freaking steal.

I've added the track listing to the CD Guide.  The Japanese listing will be coming shortly.

Pocket Monsters XY Super Music Collection
November 11th, 2013

Dogasu @ 23:46 JST -- Overlap, the company responsible for the four-disc soundtrack to Pocket Monsters X & Y that's coming out the day after tomorrow, has put out a couple of trailers for the upcoming release.  These trailers reveal the disc art - featuring Xerneas, Yveltal, Mega Lucario, and Mega Myuutwo X & Mega Myuutwo Y - as well as a shot of what appears to be the cover of the 28-page booklet that will come with the CDs.

The second trailer posted on the company's official page for the CD, labeled as the "Battle Song Edition" (バトル曲編), features the titles of three of the tracks on the set as well as what I'm guessing are excerpts from the liner notes that will be included in the aforementioned booklet.  I've translated those track names and liner notes below:

Wild Pokemon Battle! (戦闘!野生ポケモン)
Composed by Masuda Jun'ichi, Edited by Kageyama Shouta
"This is maybe the music you hear the most number of times when playing the game?  This is the BGM that plays when you encounter a wild pokemon."

Trainer Battle! (戦闘!トレーナー)
Composed by Masuda Jun'ichi, Edited by Kageyama Shouta
"This is the battle BGM that plays when you encounter a Trainer on the field!  The fusion of classical music and rock makes this one really cool song."

Gym Leader Battle! (戦闘!ジムリーダー)
Composed by Masuda Jun'ichi, Edited by Kageyama Shouta
"This is the battle BGM that plays when you encounter a Gym Leader!  Unlike the other battle music up until now, this song pushes ahead with a techno beat right from the start."

The third and fourth trailers, which the site labels as "Character Edition" (登場人物編) and "On the Field Edition" (フィールド編), have yet to be posted online but I assume they'll be "comming" sometime between now and Wednesday.

Also!  Still no updates on the North American release of the soundtrack, which we haven't heard a thing about since it was announced back in August even though it's supposed to be going up on the American iTunes store sometime this month.  A search for "Pokémon" on the iTunes store doesn't come up with anything and no other website seems to have any information about it either.  Are they just going to quietly upload it onto the iTunes store one day or something?
