My spellcheck suggested "Hiroshima" for "Hiroshi"
July 29th, 2006

"Celebi and Joy" is now up.  This comparison's more interesting than others because there are more than just text cover-ups here.

I've also updated the DVD Guide with info about the Lucario DVD, the Season One Box Set (it retails for $39.98), and rather odd release:  Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie and Pokémon The First Movie two-in-one set.  I guess because one bad dub isn't enough?

Finally, I've added some information about the English cast on "The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon" page.

"A Date with Delcatty"
July 25th, 2006

I reach the halfway mark for the Pokémon Chronicles series with the comparison for "A Date with Delcatty."  I've also altered some text in the "The Princess and the Togepi" comparison because when I wrote it, I hadn't seen the Housou episode where Kasumi supposedly decides to go to Houen to visit Satoshi.  I was just going off what other people have said about the episode.  Now that I have seen it and am able to dismiss that information as bull, I've changed the part in that Houen comparison that alludes to Housou episode.

I've also updated the DVD Guide for the Tenth Anniversary discs with episode titles and the themes for the next three volumes.  Thanks goes to Duke for finding those.

Finally, you'll notice a new link button at the top of the page.  If you want to use it to link to my site, feel free to.

My next update will have more updates with all the information fans got from Comic Con.

"Oaknapped!"
July 18th, 2006

Random fact:  I have not seen the Baby Lugia arc alluded to in the site's newest comparison, "Oaknapped!"

I've also updated the DVD section since Amazon.com's posted a bunch of new box art for the upcoming Pokémon DVD's.  So to see the covers of the second Advanced box set, the first two volumes of Advanced Battle (including a version of the first volume's cover with the correct logo), and the covers of the third and fourth volumes of the Tenth Anniversary DVD's, click on the appropriate links.

Pasta La Vista
July 13th, 2006

I've got a bunch of updates for you guys today.  I haven't done this bullet-style in a while:
I'll try to have some Manaphy movie info up before its release on Saturday.

<<A Hurdle for Squirtle>>
le 11 juillet 2006

Salut!  Aujourd'hui j'ai une nouvelle comparison d'émission, <<A Hurdle for Squirtle>>.

l
'Episode Guide avec un nouveau titre.

"The Saffron Con"
July 10th, 2006

I'm in a hurry, so no witty banter from me.  Here's "The Saffron Con."

I'm addicted to Brain Age
July 9th, 2006

I've got "Hail to the Chef!" and "Caterpie's Big Dilemma" up for you guys.  One's a great filler episode, and the other one's pure crap.  Now I only have three more Advanced Battle episodes to go!  After I do those, I'll try to finish up the Pokémon Chronicles episodes and then may work on some of the older episodes.   If I pick up the Master Quest box set, I might jump into some Whirl Cup episodes.  Or maybe I'll work on other sections of the site that (desperately) need updating.  I really have no idea.

JAA, "Sitting Psyduck," DVD news
July 4th, 2006

So Saturday I went to the Journey Across America thing and was...underwhelmed.  Now don't get me wrong...there was plenty for fans to do.  You had your video game tournaments and your TCG tournaments and your photos with Pikachu and all that.  But for me, the only thing that really interested me was the Celebi download; nothing else really lept out at me.  I'm sure that if I was ten, I would have loved it; but being 23, the rest of the mall just seemed so much more appealing.  After I got my Celebi download, I looked around a bit, picked up the Pokemon Fan magazine (which hasn't been updated at all since the start of the tour back in March), and then went elsewhere in the mall.  I didn't buy any Pokemon merchandise (though there was plenty of it being sold), but I did manage to pick up a copy of Super Mario Sunshine at the mall's EB Games for $10.  Not bad.

There were a ton of people at the even, though, so it really helped to disprove the whole myth about Pokemon not being popular anymore.  The vast majority of the people in attendance were kids under the age of ten, but there were a few people my age too.  The weirdest thing was that all the guy Pokemon fans who were college age either had long hair or had a goatee.  I didn't see a single older fan who didn't have one of these features, nor did I see anyone who had both; it was either one or the other.  It was the weirdest thing.

There was also a guy walking around dressed up as Arlon, which was actually kind of awkward.  Even more so if he happens to be reading this.

I also managed to see their preview for the Lucario movie which, as expected, was just a trailer.  Judging from what I saw, it looks like we're getting another fullscreen release; while the trailer was playing on widescreen TV's, the video looked like it was stretched out from a fullscreen master to fill the screen.  The eighth movie is really pretty and has some really nice scenery, so I hope I'm proven wrong, but I have the feeling I won't be.

I've got the comparison up for "Sitting Psyduck," and it's the first Battle Frontier comparison where I've had to make a separate page to showcase all the episode's paint edits.  I've also made a note in the "Exploud and Clear" comparison about what's turned out to be another Kids' WB!-only edit.  In addition, I've updated the Pokémon Advanced Battle and Tenth Anniversary DVD Guides.   I expect the cover art for the first Advanced Battle volume to change because if you look, you'll notice that the cover's still sporting the Advanced Challenge logo.
