Another PAB comparison, and an article
June 30th, 2006

So I got a comparison up for "On Cloud Arcanine."  I would have had it up sooner, but the CD I had the Japanese version on decided to funk up on me, so I had to end up re-downloading the thing.  So, while I waited for the download the episode, I went ahead and finished up this article I was writing on the origin of "The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon"  It took me a while to write, so I hope you guys enjoy.  Finally, I've updated the episode list with new titles.

Also, it appears that Boomerang, a spin-off of Cartoon Network that came on the air a few years ago, will be airing the first five seasons of Pokémon.  Now we don't know when the episodes will start showing or how often they'll air, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

Tomorrow I'll be heading to the Journey Across America thing, so hopefully I'll have something worthwhile to share with you guys upon my return.

Another Chronicles episode!
June 26th, 2006

Hey, I got "The Blue Badge of Courage" up.  I just started yesterday and worked my ass off to get it ready for today, so I hope you guys enjoy.  I've also spruced up the Chronicles episode list by filling in all the missing titles and basically correcting all the errors that were on it.

Also, it seems like Cartoon Network is going to be nice and give me a little break.  They're going to start premiering only one episode of Chronicles a week instead of two beginning this week.  So, here's what the schedule for July looks like:

July 1st, 2006
7:00pm - "Cerulean Blues"
7:30pm - "We're No Angels"

July 8th, 2006
7:00pm - "We're No Angels"
7:30pm - "Showdown at the Oak Corral"

July 15th, 2006
7:00pm - "Showdown at the Oak Corral"
7:30pm - "The Blue Badge of Courage"

The schedule past that point isn't really known, but for now, it looks like I'll be good on Chronicles comparisons until the 15th.  Therefore, I'm going to start focusing on some of those Advanced Battle episodes I've missed so I'll be ready when the season finale comes on July 8th.

My spell check suggested "Purina" as an alternate spelling for "Purin"
June 25th, 2006

"Rough, Tough Jigglypuff" is now up.

Also, Kids' WB! won't be airing Pokémon Advanced Battle next week; they'll be airing a Spider Riders marathon instead.  Which actually seems to be a pretty decent show.   The season finale, entitled "Pasta La Vista," won't air until July 8th.

"Hooked on Onyx"
June 22nd, 2006

Hey, remember when I used to do episode comparisons for Pokémon Advanced Battle?  Well, it's about time I started catching up with those, so here's "Hooked on Onyx" for ya.  And let me tell you; after doing Chronicles episodes for a while, it's nice to go back to doing a comparison that takes so little time to do.

I've also added Manene's and Manyula's English names to the pokemon list.  Yeah, it's old news, but whatever.

That Manaphy movie
June 20th, 2006

Hey, I updated the Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea, Manaphy page with new character bios and a page about the movie's soundtrack.  I plan to do more with the fourth Advanced Generation movie page in the next few days, which will hopefully include some more manga translations.

In other news...the Journey Across America tour will be coming by my area in a couple of weeks, and my current plans are to attend.  Those plans may change, but hopefully I'll be able to go on the weekend of the 1st.  I doubt there will actually be that much there that'll interest me (other than the Celebi download), so I'll probably be spending the majority of my time trying to get information from PUSA employees about the new season.  Or, you know, shopping around the mall, since the mall it's being held it is pretty decent.  In any case, I'll probably do a write-up for the event when I get back.

"Showdown at the Oak Corral"
June 17th, 2006

So I work at a call center nowadays, which is where I spend a little over 40 hours of my life each week answering phone calls and setting up roadside service for truck drivers stranded on the side of the road.  And to set up service, you have to communicate with the driver and the company the driver works for and the mechanics and the tow people and a bunch of other people.  Well, the other day, I had a case where a driver named "Giovanni" was stranded on the side of the road, and I had to end up setting up service with a woman named "Delia."  Pretty amusing, I thought.

Speaking of Delia, "Showdown at the Oak Corral" is now up.  4Kids tries desperately to force an Oak/Delia ship on us, so that's kind of where that segue came from.  I've also updated the Episode List with a new title and the title of the ninth season, which has finally been confirmed as airing on Cartoon Network this fall.  Finally, I went into all the old Chronicles comparisons and added in the American air dates.

"The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon"
June 14th, 2006

I've finally gotten around to acknowledging the existence of the tenth anniversary special with a section devoted to "The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon."  While I haven't done everything with it I had planned to do (i.e. a page detaling the special's Americian origins), the section is, for the most part, complete.  All the credits from the special have been typed out, I've written a few character bios, and I've posted my o
pinions about the special as a whole.

I eventually plan to do a page like this for the other two TV Specials, but at the moment, this is all I have time to do.

"Showdown at the Oak Corral" will be done shortly.  It's not that particularly time-consuming...I just haven't had the time to work on it lately.

Server issues
June 10th, 2006

Sorry for the downtime...apparently, when Bulbagarden switched servers, it disabled all sites that had the /~sitename in their addresses.  So, my site went down.  I've gotten everything moved to a new address (thanks Archaic and Zhen Lin!), so please update your bookmarks.

"Showdown at the Oak Corral" should be up in a couple of days.

"We're No Angels"
June 7th, 2006

So Pokémon Chronicles has finally premiered in the U.S., and the response has been...surprisingly positive.  Every message board I've visited is filled with posts praising the dub, and those of us who do complain are said to be overreacting.  It's really mind-boggling how incredibly low the standard of quality is for some fans and how there can be people who honestly think that the pile of sh*t known as "The Legend of Thunder" is somehow BETTER than the infinitely less sucky "The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon."  It's like comparing the One Piece dub to the Naruto dub.

Anyways, I've done my seventh Chronicles comparison, "We're No Angels!"  Of course, now that I've been going around talking about how much the dub of this series sucks, I come across and episode that's actually dubbed somewhat well.  Way to make me look like a jackass, 4Kids.

Anyway, I've also updated the DVD Guide with the next two 10th Anniversary DVD's.  Though you have to wonder what the point of these discs are when there's a season box set coming in a few months.

Finally, I've updated the Episode List.  Exciting.
