Pocket
Monsters TV Special #1

ミュウツー!我ハココニ在リ
("Mewtwo! I Am Here")
"Mewtwo
Returns"
|
After the events on New Island, Mewtwo and the clone
pokemon have relocated to Pures Rock (ピュアズロック) in order to live in a
peaceful life away from humans. However, Sakaki, the leader of
the Rocket-Dan and the man who used to own Mewtwo as a weapon, has
tracked down the man-made pokemon and plans to take it back no matter
what!
After missing a sightseeing bus to Pures Rock, Satoshi and his friends
wait for the next one inside a cabin belonging to researchers Luna
Carson, Penicillina, and their assistant Domino. Suddenly,
Musashi, Kojirou, and Nyasu appear and make off with Pikachu!
During the chase that ensues, Satoshi and his friends make it over the
steep cliffs that had served as a barrier preventing outsiders from
entering Pures Rock. They also discover that Domino is actually
an agent working for the Rocket-Dan!
Once inside, Domino calls on Sakaki and the rest of the organization to
launch an attack on the land. Will Sakaki be able to smoke Mewtwo
out and reclaim the pokemon's amazing power? Will this
newest aggression by the Rocket-Dan undo all the progress Mewtwo had
made in trusting mankind again? What will happen to the pokemon,
originals and clones alike?
Mewtwo! I Am Here
aired as an end-of-the-year TV special in December 2000. It is a
sequel to the movie Mewtwo Strikes Back.
The English title given for this special in Japan is Mewtwo Lives, as seen in the
eyecatches.
While various TV openings / endings had played around with the use of
digital ink and paint before, this is the first full Pocket Monsters production to be
colored entirely by computers.
The special is aired as three separate episodes whenever it's rerun in
Japan.
Almost all of the characters introduced in this special are played by
voice actors who had roles in The
Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon series. Domino is played by
Mitsu'ishi Kotono (Tsukino Usagi / Sailor Moon), Luna is played by
Hisakawa Aya (Mizuno Ami / Sailor Mercury), and Luka is played by Touma
Yumi (Ann in Sailor Moon R).
