Main Feature Spoiler-Free Synopsis
|
Satoshi and his friends have come to Alamos Town to participate in a
Pokémon Contest taking place there when they come across a
lovely young woman named Alice. Alice shows them around landmarks like
the "Time & Space Tower" and a beautiful garden filled with lush
greenery, putting Satoshi and his friends into a great sightseeing
mood. But then they notice that something's been wreaking havoc around
the garden. Just then an influential man of the town named Baron
Alberto appears before them, and he tells him that he's convinced the
havoc they're witnessing is the work of none other than the Mythical
Pokémon Darkrai! As if on cue, Darkrai rises up from an ominous
shadow and shows itself before Satoshi and the others.

For this year's
feature, director Yuyama Kunihiko, screenwriter Hideki Sonoda, and composer
Shinji Miyazaki traveled to Spain for inspiration for the film's
setting. The director and his staff went to Barcelona
in September 2006 to take pictures for the movie's setting and based
some of the locations in the movie (i.e. the Space-Time Tower) on
real-life loacations (La Sagrada Família, a large Roman-Catholic
basilica).

The tagline for this movie is 「神と呼ばれたポケモンたちのバトル。今、新た
なる物語が始まる」 (A battle between the Pokémon Known as
Gods...now, a
brand new story begins!)
