The Pocket Monsters (2023) manga was written and drawn by Kei Yamadaka (山鷹 景). It was this artist's first Pocket Monsters-related manga.

Kei Yamadaka is from Saitama Prefecture. In December 2021, at the age of 19, their manga Gen the Reality-Altering Spell User (言魂使いゲン) was selected as one of the winners in the Children's Manga Division of the 89th New Comics CoroCoro Manga University 2020 Summer Semester (89回新コミ児童部門・コロコロ漫画大学 校2020夏期). Kei Yamadaka's publishing debut was with Hatenko (ハテンコウ) in the June 2022 issue of MiraCoro Grand Prix (Spring).
