In the teaser for the newest movie, you can see a shadow being reflected on the water belonging to a pokemon flying through the air...and we're about to reveal just who that pokemon is! Can you believe it!? It's the legendary pokemon Lugia who will be appearing in the newest movie! That impactful melody you hear at the end of the teaser is the sound of a flute that plays during an important scene in the second movie, 1999's Pocket Monsters the Movie "Revelation Lugia." In that historic film, Lugia was an ally to Satoshi and played a big role in the movie. What will Lugia do in this year's film!? Lugia was first introduced in 1999's Pocket Monsters the Movie "Revelation Lugia" as a silhouette known simply as the mysterious Pokemon "X." After that it got a lot of attention for being put on the cover of the video game Pocket Monsters Silver version. Its latest appearances have been in 2015's Pokemon the movie XY "The Archdjinn of the Rings, Hoopa" as well as Raid Battles in Pokémon GO. In the "Pokemon General Election 720," which took place in 2016, Lugia ranked the highest of all the Pocket Monsters Gold & Silver pokemon and is a legendary pokemon whose name recognition and popularity transcends generations.
