Half a dozen years old
January 31st, 2006

First of all, Happy Birthday to my website!  Dogasu's Backpack is now six years old, and so, of course, I've written about the past year in an essay of sorts.  You can read my reflection on the past year and my goals for the next year here.

So as I was writing the essay, I went back and tried to figure out everything I had accomplished with this site in the past year.  One of the things I saw was that I had completed 77 episode comparisons!  Well, I thought it would look better to have an even 80, so I whipped up three more episode comparisons to round out the number.  So, read about the edits made to "Do I Hear a Ralts?," "The Great Eight Fate!," and "Eight Ain't Enough."  They're actually really boring since the only edits were time cuts, but I can only work with what I'm given.

Kids' WB! will be airing four episodes this weekend, but since I'm too lazy to update the TV Schedule section, I'll just let you know the schedule for this Saturday (February 4th) here:

7:00am - "The Evolutionary War"
7:30am - "Vanity Affair"
10:00am - "Showdown at Linoone" (NEW!)
10:30am - "Who, What, Where, When, Wynaut?" (NEW!)

It looks like Kids' WB! is going to alternate the 7:00am - 8:00am slot every weekend, so don't expect to see Pok
émon Advanced Battle keep airing for two hours each week.  This week we'll get an extra hour of Pokémon Advanced Battle, but next week we'll get an extra hour of Xiaolin Showdown

Finally, I'd like to say how weird it is to hear a reference to
Pokémon on the latest Bow Wow CD, of all places.  It's not as random as, say, the Lupin III reference on the newest Kanye West album, but it's still weird nonetheless.

More dub titles
January 29th, 2006

Well, new episodes of Advanced Battle have started airing in the U.K., so now we have some new dub titles.  Check them out here.

Well, I still have some technical problems, but I'm better off than I was
January 29th, 2006

Hey everyone.  Since my last update, I've probably spent about six-eight hours on the phone talking to the Dell computer people, trying to figure out why my computer's being such a pain in the ass.  They decided that it must be a hardware issue, but, of course, it's going to take some time before they'll actually do anything to my machine.  Now I may be able to use another computer temporarily to do some comparisons with, but I can't really promise anything at the moment.  I just wanted to thank you guys for being so patient during all this computer crap that I'm having to go through at the moment.

Despite all the phone calls and whatever else, I can still do a few basic updates.  First of all, I've added an paint edit to the "Going, Going, Yawn" comparison that I missed way back when.  I've also added a note to the "A Cacturne for the Worse" comparison about Harley's octopus refrence.  I've also updated the Episode List, and I've re-uploaded the first page of the CD Guide, which had apparently been broken for the longest time.  Whoops.  Thanks to Sean for pointing that out to me.

My current updating schedule, if my computer allows it, will be the AG 03 Movie stuff, some episode comparisons, and a feature on the Card Masters manga (which was supposed to be...October's manga of the month?).

In other news, Tuesday will be my site's sixth birthday, so I'll try to come up with an update for that day.

Notice
January 17th, 2006

My laptop's been going crazy loco nuts lately; it's been getting more and more sluggish as the months have gone on, and this sluggishness has greatly impaired my ability to update this site.  It won't even let me play an episode file without the audio and video lagging out of sync, which means I won't be able to do any more comparisons until I get this problem fixed.  That batch of comparisons I posted three updates ago?  I had to borrow my sister's computer to do those.

I've called up the Dell tech people and have tried a number of troubleshooting techniques, but nothing seems to be working.  So, the next thing they're going to try to do is uninstall and then re-install Windows XP to see if that does anything.  I've already gotten all my files off my computer in preparation, and I plan to call them up as soon as I get this update uploaded.

So, I'm letting you guys know that I won't be able to update for a little while as I try to get my system updated.  I don't expect to be down for more than a few hours, but it's been my experience that it's better to give you guys a notice and be on the safe side than it is to just assume that everything will work out the way it should.  If all goes as planned, I should be able to get myself together and hope to start daily episode comparisons again like I did back in the summer.

I did manage to update the Episode List and TV Schedule because both of those were horribly out of date.

Myuu and the Wave Guiding Hero, Lucario stuff
January 10th, 2006

So I updated the AG Movie 03 section with a bunch of info, but I'm not finished yet.  The voice actor list is now complete, soundtrack information has been added, and I've added lyrics pages to all the songs featured in the film.  I'm still working on redoing the character bios, so those will have to wait until the next update

I'm also in the planning stages of a page going over the world of the movie.  Things like hadou, the "Flower of Time," the Summers Corporation and the leukocytes in the Tree of Beginning will be explained, complete with high-quality pictures from the Region 2 DVD.

"Beg, Burrow and Steal"
January 7th, 2006

I was going to have a comparison for today's Absol episode, but my computer's not cooperating even though it was supposedly "fixed."  So, I only have "Beg, Burrow and Steal" for you guys.  I've also added the newest dub titles to the Episode List.

By the way, I got the
Japanese Myuu and the Wave-Guiding Hero, Lucario DVD in the mail the other day, so I'll probably watch that today and update the third AG movie section within the next few days.

Happy New Year!
January 6th, 2006

Happy New Year everyone!  I've been busy making new comparisons:

I'm sorry that it's been taking me so long to get these comparisons up, but I haven't had the time to work on this website like I've wanted to.

I'll see if I can get the Vibrava episode up later in the day.
