Basic Synopsis

One day, a young boy mysteriously turns into a Squirtle!  After befriending a Chikorita and a Charmander, Squirtle joins Team Go-Getters, a Pokemon Rescue Team gathered to help those in need.  In order to improve their rank, Team Go-Getters sign up for a mission to rescue Pichu's older brother, Pikachu.  However, a group of mischevious pokemon known as Team Meanies appear and decide to get in their way!  Can Team Go-Getters make it through Sinister Cave, thwart Team Meanie's schemes, and defeat a powerful Skarmory in order to save Pikachu?

Notes

This is the second animated Pokémon production to debut in the U.S. before it did in Japan.

During the first few airings of the special, there is a scene in which Gengar misidentifies Ekans as Arbok.  After that, fans on the Internet noticed and cited a similarity to 4Kids' infamous "Seviper evolves into Arbok" mishap.  By the September 30th airing, however, the line was redubbed with the correct pokemon's name.
