Just about every line in the song features the name of a Pokémon used in a pun or other play on words. The Pokémon used all seem to be based solely on their names

As no official breakdown of the song has ever been provided what follows is an educated guess as to what words each Pokémon name is a standing in for in each line.

Lyric
I found this Nyarth girl over at Club Crab
クラブでみつけた ニャースなあのこ

Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Crab
Crab
クラブ
kurabu (クラブ), "(night) club"
The Pokémon name Crab (クラブ) and the Japanese word for "(night) club" (クラブ) are homonyms. That's not really super obvious to native English speakers, though, so I included both words in my translation to help make it more clear.
Nyarth
Nyarth
ニャース
naisu (ナイス), "nice"
"Nyarth" (ニャース) sounds sorta-kinda similar to the Japanese pronunciation of the word naisu (ナイス), or "nice"...?

Lyric
Her name and where she lives were not-so-known que ça (Nazonokusa~!)
じゅうしょも ねーむも ナゾノクサ (ナゾノクサ)

Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Nazonokusa
Nazonokusa
ナゾノクサ
nazo (謎), "mystery"
The first part of Nazonokusa's name is nazo (謎), "mystery" or "unknown." "Not-so-known que ça" is my best attempt at finding "English" words that convey that meaning that also sound like this Pokémon's name, even if it doesn't really work 100%.

Lyric
Thought I caught a glimpse of someone as I was getting a moHito-kage
だれかのヒトカゲ ちらつくけれど
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Hitokage
Hitokage
ヒトカゲ
hitokage (人影), "a human figure" or "a silhouette"
The Pokémon's name Hitokage (ヒトカゲ) and the Japanese word hitokage (人影), "human figure,"  are homonyms. I couldn't think of any English words that mean "shadow" or "human figure" that also sound like the name Hitokage and so I added a little throwaway bit about mojitos to get the pun in.

Lyric
My heart's pounding like a crescenDo-gars (won't stop pounding~!)
こころはドガース とまれない (とまれない)
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Dogars
Dogars
ドガース
doki-doki (ドキドキ), "excited"
The Pokémon name "Dogars" (ドガース) sorta-kinda sounds like the onomatopoeia word doki-doki (ドキドキ), "excited." I combined "Dogars" with "heart's pounding like a crescendo" to fit the pun in.

Lyric
Lucky Lucky! Nice to Mew-two
ラッキーラッキー ないすとぅ ミュウツー
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Lucky
Lucky
ラッキー
rakkii (ラッキー), "lucky"
The Pokémon name Lucky (ラッキー) and the Japanese word for "lucky" (ラッキー) are homonyms.
Mewtwo
Mewtwo
ミュウツー
mii chuu (ミーチュー), "meet you"
The Pokémon name "Mewtwo" (ミュウツー) sorta-kinda sounds like the English phrase "meet you."

Lyric
Ever since that Tamatama time we happened to meet
タマタマであった そのひから
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Tamatama
Tamatama
タマタマ
tama-tama (たまたま), "happen to" or "by chance" or "unexpectedly," etc.
The Pokémon name Tamatama (タマタマ) and the Japanese word for "happen to" (たまたま) are homonyms. The idea with my translation is that "Tamatama" sounds like "time-a time-a," but that's probably not very obvious and so I added "time" to the phrase to hopefully make that part more clear. I'll be the first to admit it doesn't quite work.

Lyric
Happy Happy! I'm so H-A-Pippi-Y
ハッピーハッピー あいむそー ピッピ
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Pippi
Pippi
ピッピ
happii (ハッピー), "happy"
The Pokémon name "Pippi" (ピッピ) sorta-kinda sounds like the word "happy" (ハッピー)...? May also be based on "peppy" (ペッピー). In any case, I used "Pippi" to stand in for the two Ps in "H-A-P-P-Y."

Lyric
My heart's practically Tattu'ed on my sleeve. I'm. No. Coyking!
はらがタッツーほど コイキング!
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Tattu
Tattu
タッツー
hara ga tatsu (腹が立つ), "to get angry," "to be furious"
The tatsu in the Japanese phrase hara ga tatsu (腹が立つ) is replaced with the Pokémon name Tattu (タッツー) to create hara ga Tattu (腹がタッツー). It also sorta-kinda sounds like the English word "tattoo," hence my translation.
Koiking
Koiking
コイキング
koi (恋), "love"
kingu (キング), "king"
The Pokémon name "Koiking" (コイキング) is usually understood to mean "king of carp" (鯉の王者) but based on the context of this song it seems like it's meant to stand for "king of love" (恋の王者). Koi also sounds like the English word coy and so I had the idea to have Kojirou say he's no "coy king" to convey teh idea that he's actually overflowing with love.

Lyric
I've gotta come up with a cool pick up line, just like Zubat
くーるなせりふで ズバットきめりゃ
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Zubat
Zubat
ズバット
zubatto (ズバッと), "flat-out," "tell it like it is"
The Pokémon name Zubat (ズバット) and the Japanese word for "flat-out" (ズバッと) are homonyms. In my translation, "Zubat" is a stand-in for the word "that."

Lyric
I Pika-choose to give you a smooch later. That make you feel Beto-better? (Betobeter~!)
しょうらい ピカチュウ ベトベター (ベトベター)
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Pikachu
Pikachu
ピカチュウ
chuu (チュー), "to give someone a smooch." You can also see this used in Pokémon names like Muchul ("Smoochum")
The last syllable in Pikachu's (ピカチュウ) name sounds like the word chuu (チュー), "to give someone a smooch." I thought about using "Pika-smooch" but I thought "Pika-choose" would be the easier phrase to understand right away.
Betobeter
Betobeter
ベトベター
betaa (ベター), "better"
The last syllable in Betobeter's (ベトベター) name sounds like the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "better," betaa (ベター).

Lyric
But before we start going around in circles like a Dodo-nut
ドードーめぐりを くりかえすまえに
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Dodo
Dodo
ドードー
dou dou meguri (堂々巡り), "revolving door," "never-ending cycle"
The Pokémon name Dodo (ドードー) and the first part of the Japanese phrase for "never-ending cycle" (堂々巡り) are homonyms. I decided to go with combining Dodo's name with the word donut to convey the idea of going around in circles.

Lyric
I'll give her these Smelly Flowers (Kusaihana~!)
あのこにわたそう クサイハナ (クサイハナ)
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Kusaihana
Kusaihana
クサイハナ
hana (花), "flower
Kusaihana's name means "smelly flower" (臭い花), but in this song I think we're supposed to ignore "smelly" and focus more on the "flower" part of the line. I couldn't think of a good substitute for "Kusaihana" and so I just  used the phrase "Smelly Flower" as-is.

Lyric
Fushigida-name a more unlikely couple
ぼくらのであいは フシギダネ
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Fushigidane
Fushigidane
フシギダネ
fushigi da ne (不思議だね), "it's strange, isn't it?" The Pokémon name Fushigidane (フシギダネ) and the Japanese phrase fushigi da ne? ("it's strange, isn't it?") are homonyms. The line can also be interpreted as "look at how strange a couple we are" which is how I came up with a play on the phrase "name a more unlikely couple."

Lyric
I wanna get my Eau de Golone on you tonight with my King Kongpang hug
コンパン ゴローンと あまえたい
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Kongpang
Kongpang
コンパン
konban (今晩), "tonight"
The Pokémon name "Kongpang" (コンパン) sorta-kinda sounds like the word konban ("tonight")...? Marrying "Kongpang" with "tonight" wasn't really working and so I focused on ametai, "I want to cuddle with you." "King Kongpang" part above is meant to invoke the idea of a long hug, kind of like what you might get from a gorilla.
Golone
Golone
ゴローン
koroon (コ ローン), "cologne"
The Pokémon name "Golone" (ゴローン) sorta-kinda sounds like the word cologne (コローン)...? I came up with "Eau de Golone" to invoke the idea of "Eau de cologne."

Lyric
The story's just getting heated up...Ma 'dats you, beau me (Madatsubomi)
どらまはこれから マダツボミ!
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Madatsubomi
Madatsubomi
マダツボミ
"still a (flower) bud" (まだ蕾). The Pokémon name Madatsubomi (マダツボミ) and the Japanese phrase mada tsubomi ("it's still a flower bud") are homonyms. The really, really forced play on words I tried to go for here basically means "Ma (girl), in this drama this person I'm pointing at is you, and this beau (boy) is me."

Lyric
Remember me? I'm a Star...mie?
りめんばーみー? あいむ スターミー?
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Starmie Starmie
スターミー
sutaa (スター), "star"
May be playing with the fact that the Pokémon name "Starmie" (スターミー) has the word "star" (スター) in it...? In the above translation, the idea is "I'm a star...me?"

Lyric
Why do you seem Fushigi-so mysterious?
どーして あなたは フシギソウ?
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Fushigisou
Fushigisou
フシギソウ
fushigi sou (不思議そう), "it seems strange" The Pokémon name Fushigisou (フシギソウ) and the Japanese phrase fushigi sou ("it seems strange") are homonyms.

Lyric
Just let it Be-dle
れっと いっと ビードル
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Beedle
Beedle
ビードル
bii (ビー) "be" (as in "let it be")
The first part of the Pokémon name "Beedle" (ビードル) sounds like bii, the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "(to) be."

Lyric
Let's Ghos...er, go!
れっつ ゴース!
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Ghos
Ghos
ゴース
goo (ゴー), "go" (as in "let's go")
The first part of the Pokémon name "Ghos" (ゴース) sounds like goh, the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "go." "Let's Ghos" by itself doesn't convey this so I added the "...er, go!" part to help make this more clear.

Lyric
Fizzy power, rain Showers, rush hour
しゃわしゃわ シャワーズ らっしゅあわー
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Showers
Showers
シャワーズ
shawaazu (シャワーズ), (rain) "showers" The Pokémon name Showers (シャワーズ) and the Japanese word shawaazu ("(rain) showers") are homonyms. This is the part of the song where Kojirou stops making puns and more or less just lists out words that rhyme with various Pokémon names.

Lyric
Fire, ire, I'm so tired
ファイヤー いやいや もういやー
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Fire
Fire
ファイヤー
iya-iya (いやいや), or "no way"
mou iyaa (も ういやー), or "that's enough"
The Pokémon name Fire (ファイヤー) sounds similar to the other words in this particular line of the song, iya-iya (いやいや), or "no way," and mou iyaa (も ういやー), or "that's enough"

Lyric
Good things come in by the thouSand-pans
にどあることは サンドパン
Image
Pokémon Name
Japanese Word
Explanation
Sandpan
Sandpan
サンドパン
nido aru koto wa sando aru (二 度あることは三度ある), and idiom equivalent to "(good/bad) things come in threes" or "when it rains, it pours"
The sando ("threes") part of the idom nido aru koto wa sando aru is replaced with the Pokémon name "Sandpan" (サンドパン)

Lyric

Windie
ウィンディ
eburidei (エブリデイ), "everyday"
