I'm going to work on it! Detective Pikachu This will be the first time I'm in charge of the Japanese dub of a Western movie since Sing... I'm really nervous! But, it's an exciting kind of nervousness～♫ I wanna hurry up and see the finished movie already～! I'll keep you updated on the sound work later～! So look forward to it ～! Detective Pikachu Coming to theaters this May!

I'm really nervous! The (Japanese) dub of Detective Pikachu is still just a fledgling 🐣... but we're closing in on the release date so we'd better get to work! 『名探偵ピカチュウ』でのヨシダ警部補役の渡辺謙 さんの吹き替え作業…。 いや〜緊張しました・笑 何年振りだろ？こんなに楽しい緊張感…。 事前打ち合わせで、思わず 「何も言う事はありません…」 だって、スクリーンに映っておられる本人なんだし・笑 しかしながは、渡辺謙さんは 何度も何度も→。

So, about Ken Watanabe dubbing over Lt. Yoshida in Detective Pikachu... I'm actually really nervous lol. How long has it been since I've felt this fun kind of nervousness...? During our first meetings Mr. Watanabe, without missing a beat, told me "We don't have anything to talk about..." Well, he did play the guy up on the screen he's doing the voiceover work for, after all lol. But regardless, Mr. Watanabe kept doing take after take...

こちらのイメージを大切に、トライして下さいまし た！ 感謝です…。有難うございます。 同じ現場にいられて、光栄です。 楽しい時間は あっという間に終わってしまった。 さぁ、7割方アフレコが終了！ あと、3踏ん張り〜♫ 『名探偵ピカチュウ』 5月公開まで ラストスパートだ！！

He really did his best to visualize his performance and give it his all! I'm so grateful to him. Thank you. I feel honored to be allowed to work on the same movie as you. We had a lot of fun together but it was over before we knew it. Well, I guess about 70% of the dubbing work is done now. I'll do my best on the remaining 30%! We're in the home stretch to the May release of Detective Pikachu!

March 28th, 2019:  Ken Watanabe

ティム役の竹内涼真さんの収録が終了した。初めて の外画アフレコとあって、竹内さんも緊張していたが、私だって素人同然…。  お互いに徐々に歩み寄り  最後はガッチリ握手で負えました。いやー、よく頑張って下さいました♫こちらの要望に納得いくまで確認。まさに、全力での全力疾走！ ご期待下さい！

And that's a wrap on Ryoma Takeuchi voiceover work as Tim. This is Mr. Takeuchi's first foreign movie dub and so he was nervous, and I'm a beginner (at this kind of work) as well... So the two of us met halfway and gave each other firm handshakes to help us get through this. That Takeuchi really gave it his all. ♫ Now I have to go back and check to make sure everything's the way we want it. We're really running on all cylinders now! Please look forward to it!
