Dogasu's Backpack | Manga Guide | Pokémon Fushigi no Dungeon Ginji no Kyuujotai

| Story Synopsis | Characters | About the Author |

Name:  Ginji
Ginji (Achamo)
Ginji was an ordinary boy searching for his birthday present one day when he collapses due to fatigue.  When he wakes up, he finds himself trapped in the body of an Achamo!  As Ginji tries to figure out a way to change back into a human, he befriends a Mizugorou and decides to join a Rescue Team to help any Pokémon in need.

Ginji is a very headstrong young boy who never hesitates to jump into action.  Even though he is quick to adjust to his new body, Ginji still desires to find a way to turn back into a human.

Mizugorou Name:  Mizugorou
Mizugorou is the first Pokémon Ginji befriends at the start of his life as a Pokémon.  Even though the water-type Pokémon is an indecisive coward, it still aspires to form a Rescue Team in order to protect the Pokémon in the area from natural disasters.  As Mizugorou watches Ginji's many heroic deeds, it starts to gather the courage needed to become stronger.

Name:  Gängar Gengar
Gängar is a Pokémon who becomes Ginji's and Mizugorou's first "clients."  The ghost-type Pokémon tells our heroes that he needs to be taken to Natio's place to retrieve something he had let it borrow, so he joins the two Pokémon.

However,
Gängar's kindness hides a deceitful thief whose goal is to steal from Natio!  Can our heroes protect themselves from his trickery?

Natio Name:  Natio
Natio is a psychic-type Pokémon who lives at the top of a mountain.  The Pokémon is able to see the future and is the one who tells all the Pokémon in the area that Ginji used to be a human.

Name:  Human cursed by Kyuukon
There is a legend that whoever touches the tails of a Kyuukon will be cursed for a thousand years.  One human did just that, but instead of accepting his curse, he abandoned his Sirnight and allowed it to receive the jinx in his place.  Kyuukon decrees that the incarnation of this selfish human would be inflicted with the curse intended for the boy who touched its tails a thousand years before.

In the present day, Gängar is able to convince his fellow villagers that Ginji is the ill-fated ancestor.  This causes the Pokémon to turn on Ginji, eventually driving him out of the village.  Now, Ginji is on a quest to find Kyuukon to find a way to undo the curse that was supposedly placed on him a thousand of years ago.

Name:  Fire
Fire is the second legendary bird Pokémon Ginji and Mizugorou come across on his journey.  The Pokémon is deceived by Gängar into thinking that Ginji is the human cursed by Kyuukon, so the Pokémon develops an intense hatred for the human-turned-Achamo.  Fire attacks our heroes when they approach his volcano home, but he is eventually defeated by Mizugorou's Water Gun.

Name:  Absol Absol
Absol is known as "the disaster Pokémon" because it is said to bring trouble wherever it goes.  However, Absol is not the cause of the problems in the area and wants to meet with Kyuukon to help clear its name.  After an initial encounter with our heroes, Absol steps in and helps Ginji and Mizugorou face off against the fearsome legendary Pokémon, Freezer!

Freezer
Name:  Freezer
Freezer is the legendary bird our heroes meet in the Forest of Frost.  Like Thunder and Fire before it, Freezer attacks Ginji because it believes he is the cursed human.  After the Pokémon is attacked by an avalanche caused by Gänger, Freezer decides that he's not the cause of the area's natural disasters and allows Ginji to pass.

Name:  Gold-Ranked Rescue Team
The Rescue Team
This team consisting of a Houdin, Lizardon, and a Bangirasu is famous because of their high rank.  Ginji and Mizugorou encounter the trio on their journey to reach Kyuukon and are immediately overtaken by their combined power.  Just as the Pokémon seem doomed, Kyuukon steps in and puts an end to their fighting.

Kyuukon
Name:  Kyuukon
The legendary nine-tailed fox Pokémon is a wise Pokémon who everyone seeks for the answers to their questions.  Kyuukon reveals the secret of the cursed human and warns about the awakening of Groudon.

Name:  Groudon Groudon
All of the floods, earthquakes, landslides, and other natural disasters are signs that Groudon, the legendary Pokémon, is about to awaken.  Can Ginji and Mizugorou prevent this terrifying beast from wreaking havoc on the world as we know it?
