Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" Manga: Episode Zeraora
June 24th, 2018

Dogasu @ 00:35 JST -- Every year there's a new Pocket Monsters movie and every year there's a manga released to coincide with the new film. This year the movie manga being released is Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" Side Story: Episode Zeraora.

Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" Side Story: Episode Zeraora

As the title suggests, this year's manga isn't a straight up adaptation of the movie but is instead an original story centered around the mythical pokemon Zeraora.
It's set mostly in a VR simulation of a period many years ago when the mythical pokemona faced off against a group of Pokemon Hunters near the Fuura City power plant.

I've written up a detailed story summary, character bios, and have provided information about the manga's artist / author. A graphic novel is due to be released in Japan on July 13th.

Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" will be released on Friday, July 13th 2018 in Japan. An international release has not been announced at this time.

Translation Tuesdays Week Nine: Animage Feature on Satoshi Nakano
June 20th, 2018

Dogasu @ 00:40 JST -- This week I'm going back into the Animage backlog to present a feature the magazine ran in its May 2017 issue on Satoshi Nakano, the character designer of the Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon TV series!

Animage Feature: Satoshi Nakano

While this is nowhere near as long or in-depth as what we got with Masa'aki Iwane it's still an interesting look at an important side of the creation of the Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon TV series. It also allowed me to break out my photo editing software and do some Japanese to English edits similar to what I did with that "Making of" comic I translated a while ago. Anyway, as always please let me know what you think via any of the methods below!

Translation Tuesdays Week Eight: Real Escape Game "Escape from Amusement Park of Wind"
June 13th, 2018

Dogasu @ 07:41 JST -- Pocket Monsters Let's Go? Smash Bros? Pssh, everyone knows the real content the people are clamoring for is anything about a country-specific theme park attraction that's only tangentially related to the movie it's meant to promote!

Real Escape Game "Escape from Amusement Park of Wind"

Today's Translation Tuesdays is a look at the Real Escape Game "Escape from Amusement Park of Wind," a kind of escape room type game that will be taking place in theme parks in both Tokyo and Osaka this summer. I basically translated the majority of the event's official website so be sure to check out my coverage for more information about this event than any other English language site!

Next week I'll be taking a break from Movie 21 stuff and will bring you guys a translation of comments made by the character designer of the Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon TV series printed in a 2017 issue of Animage.

Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" will be released on Friday, July 13th 2018 in Japan. An international release has not been announced at this time.
