Volcanion and the
Tricky Magearna - Chapter Two
April 18th, 2016 Dogasu @ 07:26 JST -- The issue of CoroCoro Comics that contained the second chapter of the manga adaptation of this summer's movie, Volcanion and the Tricky Magearna, went on sale the other day and so, as usual, I've written up a plot synopsis. In previous years these manga adaptations have been pretty faithful to the movies on which they were based but, as I said after the first chapter came out, that doesn't seem to be the case this time around. Satoshi and Jarvis (and Éliphas, I guess) continue to be the only humans from the movie's official website to make an appearance and there seem to be two brand new characters added just because. I'm certainly looking forward to comparing the manga with the movie when the latter comes out. A third chapter is due to appear in the June 2016 issue of CoroCoro Comics which will go on sale May 14th. Pokémon the movie XY&Z "Volcanion and the Tricky Magearna" hits Japanese theaters on July 16th, 2016. It is the 19th film in the franchise overall. Public Service Announcement: Pocket Monsters XY&Z time change April 2nd, 2016 Dogasu @ 15:01 JST -- This is something that was actually announced a little over a month ago but since this is happening soon I thought it'd be worth posting a reminder about it here; for the first time in eighteen years the Pocket Monsters animated series is getting a timeslot change. It's not really much of a change; Pocket Monsters XY&Z, which up until now had been airing on TV-Tokyo on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 7:30pm, is going to start airing from 6:55pm until 7:25pm instead. This new timeslot will begin with the episode airing this coming Thursday, "A Bride for Citron!? Eureka's "S'il vous Plaît" Panic!!" The reason seems to be because the new show that TV-Tokyo is putting in its 5:20pm timeslot is ending five minutes earlier which is, in turn, shifting every other primetime show back five minutes as well. It's not just Pocket Monsters being affected here; every show airing in primetime on TV-Tokyo Mondays through Friday having to announce that they'll start airing five minutes earlier starting from this month. It's actually kind of a mess.
So if you're the kind of person who watches new episodes of Pocket Monsters live, be aware that the show is now going to be airing five minutes earlier starting April 7th.
