Pokemon the Movie XY Week Four Box Office Figures August 13th, 2014 Dogasu @ 15:28 EDT -- I'm back in the U.S. of A. everybody! I'll be in the country for the next two weeks and while I will be busy visiting old friends and doing sightseeing and whatnot I still want to try to update this site a few times during my trip. Today I'll be reporting the box office information for The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie's fourth week in theaters. The movie fell to sixth place this past weekend with the number one spot went to the CG film STAND BY ME Doraemon. That bumped Rurouni Kenshin The Great Kyoto Fire down to number two. Debuting in third place was Transformers: Age of Extinction, which pushed Maleficent down to fourth place and When Marnie was There down to fifth. Oddly enough Cinema Today is not reporting any updated figures for this year's Pokemon movie. They've always done so in the past so I'm not sure what the deal is this week but hopefully we'll get some updated numbers in next week's report. Pokemon the Movie XY Week Three Box Office Figures August 8th, 2014 Dogasu @ 06:38 JST -- Ugh, SORRY about the lack of updates guys. Work's been super exhausting this week and also I'm going to the U.S. in a few days to go visit and so I've been busy getting ready for that as well. I can, at least, give you guys the third week box office figures for The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie. The movie went down another spot in its third week due to the arrival of Rurouni Kenshin The Great Kyoto Fire. I saw the movie on Sunday and it's pretty effing amazing so I'm happy it's a success. The sequel to 2012's live action Rurouni Kenshin movie came in first place, moving Godzilla down to second, Maleficent down to third, and Pokemon the movie XY down to fourth. This year's Pokemon movie has earned a total of 1,469,523,700 yen (approximately US $14,331,853) so far. In other movie news, Anime News Network is reporting that the new issue of CoroCoro Comics "announced" that Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will be the stars of this year's movie but that's absolutely not true. All the blurb they link to is doing is saying that there was a teaser at the end of this year's movie that showed Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre oh and by the way here are some screenshots. The magazine makes zero claims about what is or what isn't going to be in next year's movie because it, like the rest of us, has absolutely no idea at this point.
