Moving is a very time consuming thing, part two
April 12th, 2011

Dogasu @ 23:50 JST -- Having no Internet sucks, just in case you were wondering.

I won't have regular Internet access until, I dunno, the end of April, so I'm having to update this website at Internet cafes for the time being.  I'd love to just take my laptop to a Starbucks or somewhere like that and pick up a free Wi-Fi signal, but the thing about Japan is that there really aren't that many free Wi-Fi signals out there in the wild.  There are companies in this country that sell these portable devices that act as Wi-Fi hotspots, and they sure as hell don't want anybody out there offering free Internet and discouraging sales of their products.

I've also been busy training for my new job and getting ready for my next move (the place I'm at now is only temporary), so I haven't had that much time even if I did have regular Internet.

So yeah, let's get back into the swing of things, slowly but surely.  First, I've caught up with the summaries for Pocket Monsters Réburst:

Chapter Three

One thing I noticed when writing those summaries is that each chapter is shorter than the one before it.  Weird.  While I was at it, the Characters page for that series was updated as well.

In other manga related news, a short preview of the manga adaptation of this year's movie was announced in the April 2011 issue of CoroCoro Comics.  The adaptation, which seems to be based on the Zekrom version of the movie, will start in the May 2011 issue of CoroCoro Comics that comes out this Friday.  I've created a placeholder for it on the front Manga Guide page.

The List of TV Episodes has also been updated with a bunch of new titles, both Japanese and English.

Finally, I've updated the DVD Guide with...a Blu-Ray?  It looks like Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, the same folks who are re-releasing Pok
émon 4Ever and Pokémon Heroes on DVD for some reason, will be releasing Pokémon Heroes and Pokémon Destiny Deoxys as a double feature in May.  This is pretty interesting for a number of reasons.  One, this will be the first Blu-Ray release for anything Pokémon-related in the U.S.  Two, American Blu-Ray discs can be played in Japanese Blu-Ray players and vice versa, so I'm wondering how a company like Echo Bridge Home Entertainment was able to negotiate the rights for this.  I imagine the Deoxys movie will be of particular interest to Japanese fans since this will be their chance to reverse import the non-CGI'ed all the hell version of that particular film.  Three, what about the Jirachi movie?  Why just Heroes and Destiny Deoxys?  It's certainly an interesting release, and I'll try to follow up on it as we get closer to its release date.

I'll probably branch the Blu-Ray releases into their own section when we get more announced.  In the meantime, I think it's not too big of a problem to just tuck it into the existing DVD Guide.

I have no idea when I'll be able to update again.  I do thank you all for your patience and hope you'll continue to bear with these lack of updates just a little bit longer.
