Barely in on time...
January 31st, 2003

It's been three years since I've started this site, so I took time out from converting the Humans' Bios section to the new layout for a little three-year anniversary rant.  It's not as good as my second one, but I was kinda in a hurry when I did it.  Whoops.  I also have a new comparison up for "Just Waiting on a Friend" (the Ninetales/Kyuukon episode).

Back to the converting...good lord this section is taking forever to redo...

A week of school is over!  That means I can update again!!!
January 25th, 2003

Metroid Prime has crack or heroin or some other sort of addictive substance in it, so before I go back to it I'll tell you what I updated.  First of all, I've finally added a list of the new Ruby/Sapphire pokemon.  Everyone should be on there now, and I even have a few semi-confirmed English names, thanks to IGN.com (and MetalMario).  I say semi-confirmed because IGN isn't always the most reliable news source, and MetalMario really didn't say where he got his information from.  I've also redone the Places & Items section, actually dividing some of the areas into different pages, and I've updated everything to make it up-to-date.  And I have a new Episode Comparison up, for the Delibird episode that came on this morning, just because I can.  Whee.

Well, back to Metroid Prime.  I swear I'm not addicted...I can quit any time I want to!  REALLY I CAN!!!!!  GET OFF MY BACK MAN!!!!  *Ahem*  Expect an update in a few days, at the very latest Saturday.

Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation...and other good stuff
January 18th, 2003

It's official.  I've pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda:  The Wind Waker.

I mean, I've known for a while that I was going to get the game.  I mean really, I'm such a huge Zelda freak that I could be considered borderline obsessive.  But the reason I'm pre-ordering it rather than just wait to go to the store and buy it is because of the nifty pre-order deal.  You get two discs for pre-ordering--the original Nintendo 64 Orcarina of Time (which I already have, but playing it on the GameCube will be neat) and the only-released-in-Japan "Zelda:  Master Quest."  Seriously, that's two games that will keep you occupied until the game ships out in March, so I'll have plenty to do.

"So Dogasu, you're going around spending all this money on video games and whatnot...what about the site?"

Well, I won't be able to buy any new Japanese episodes for the comparisons page for a while.  I still have about two or three school books to buy (so that's a good $150-$200 right there), and then I went and bought Zelda.  And the thing is, I don't get another paycheck until the end of February.  So I really don't have that much money right now.  But that doesn't mean I won't have any more episode comparisons to satisfy you until then.  In fact, I just put up a new comparison for Episode 232, the one that just aired this morning.

I've updated the Pokemon Bios' section (formerly "Important Pokemon," and it used to be called "Popular Pokemon" back in the day) to the new look.  I've also added information about everybody's Advanced Generation pokemon, so if you want to know how Haruka got her Achamo or how Satoshi got his Subame, go ahead and read.

Speaking of Advanced Generation, I finally managed to see my first episode of the new series.  And I'm happy to report that it doesn't suck!  No!  The episode I saw, the Subame one, was really really good!  I was just amazed at how well the new cast works together, the feeling of "newness" that Pocket Monsters hasn't had for a LONG while, and the overall feeling that the producers of the anime are actually TRYING to do this series right.  Other changes include the fact that the "Who's that Pokemon?" segment is gone, the Pokemon Zukan has a new voice (it's now a lady -_^), and the Rocket-Dan have a new song playing during their motto.  The anime has been saved, and I applaud the anime producers for a job well done.

Those of you who went out to see the fourth Pokemon movie in theatres may have been disappointed to see the short "Pikachu's Nervous Hide-and-Seek" was missing.  Well, according to the DVD cover on Amazon.com, the short will be included on the upcoming DVD.  So yay for us.

Well, I've been going on long enough.  I'm going to get a bunch of the shorter sections done with the next update, so until then--get Metroid Fusion.  Now THAT is a really really fun game...

Bum Bum Bum~
January 16th, 2003

Hi everyone.  Notice something different?  No, I didn't lose weight.  I didn't get a new haircut.  And I'm not wearing a new shirt.

But there is something different about this site.  Well, as I'm sure you're all well aware, I have the new layout.  The old layout had worked for me for about a year and a half, but I felt like a change was needed.  I've also renamed the site because quite frankly, "Dogasu's English-Japanese Pokemon Page" is a bit long-winded and wordy.  I'll need to change the link button on my Links page to reflect the site's new name, but that'll come later.

If you look around the site a bit, you'll notice that only the main pages of each section have the new layout.  That would be because reworking every page is a very long and tedious process.  It took me an hour to rework the eighteen pages that I did, and that was after I made all the images and got everything configured.  You'll also notice that I've divided the Pokemon Bashing and Humor page into two sections, just to make things more sensible.  I've also given the Features its own section, but that may or may not turn into more of a "miscellaneous section for all the stuff I don't know what to do with" section.  You may also notice that I have a new AIM screenname at the bottom.  Eventually, I'll just use that one, so if you want to talk to me that's the screenname you should try.

So what's new, content-wise?  Well, if you look on the sidebar, you'll see a new button--List of Techniques.  This is basically a big English-Japanese chart of a bunch of the attacks you see in the game/anime.  It doesn't have all the attacks, but it has the majority of the important ones that you'd run across.  I've also fixed a mistake in the Racist Jynx page, thanks to whywing.  I have some more dub titles up in the Episode Guide, and I've added some pictures to the Episodes 196 and 197 comparisons of what was edited in those particular episodes.

I'll work really hard to get a section or two reworked a day, and I don't think I'll bother reporting in after each section.  I'll have more content updates soon!

I'm not dead...really, I'm not!
January 7th, 2003

Hey everyone.  Well, I wanted to get an update up by the new year, but I guess that didn't work out, now did it?  Ah well.  Right now I'm working on a new section for this site, and it's really taking all of the time I've set aside for working on this site at the moment, so I really don't have anything else of value to update with.

Aside from the picture of the week (and the fixed the spelling error on the episode guide...what the heck does "distrubed" mean, anyway?), I have two more dub titles.  There's also a picture up on the Fushigi Yuugi page of the Episode 5 Comparison, thanks to Stephen Congly.  I've updated the links on the main Episode Comparisons page, and I've added a link to a fansite for Kojirou's parents on their bio page, thanks to Rumika.  Also, check out the Movie 5 page for the release date of the American version of the film.  And lastly, I've made a correction on the PiPiPi Adventures manga page, thanks to JMS04Juuhachigou.

So I hope everyone's having a great New Year, and I hope to get that new section up before I go back to college.  Until then!
