Another New Rant
Sunday, September 30th, 2001

I have another new rant up, this time about Yu-Gi-Oh on Kids' WB!  Why do I have a Yu-Gi-Oh rant on a Pocket Monsters website?  Because 4Kids, the same people who dubbed Pokemon dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh.  Yu-Gi-Oh is 4Kids' second anime title, and they really messed it up.  The rant comes from Alan Tse, so go take a look at it!

Also, for those of you interested, here's the cover for the dubbed "Mewtwo Returns" tape.

New Rant
Saturday, September 29, 2001

Y'know, I've recently been seriously playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game Game Boy Game...and let me tell you, the game's starting to grow on me.  Of course, it's a card game, so a lot of the battle outcomes are based on the luck of the draw, but at least now I know something about the game.  Of course, no one plays the card game anymore, so I won't be able to play it in real life, but that's OK.

I've updated the Manga listings to cover the October and November releases.  I've also archived the news to clear up this front page.  And I've updated the Episode Guide.  And finally, I have a new rant up by Kenneth-san.  Good stuff, all good stuff.

Next time I'll have some additions to the Seiyuu pages, but for now I'm looking for Imakuni in the Pokemon Card Game...where is that little mouse man...

Jouto League Pictures Return
Tuesday, September 25th, 2001

Hi all.  As you can tell by the title of this update, the Jouto League pictures have returned!  After  several months of not being there, they have returned!  The only thing is that I've gotten rid of the individual episode pages, because those little pictures usually weren't any good, it was a waste of space, and it was just pointless.  But now the pictures are up-to-date, covering three pages.

It's really weird looking back at the earlier ones, because those episodes have since been dubbed and shown in America.  That's kinda weird to me...speaking of the dub, the fourth opening recently made its debut.  It's a remix of the first song, just like the fourth Japanese opening, but the new Japanese opening doesn't start for another 20 episodes or so, when the Matsuba battle starts.

I've also noticed something...the new episode coming on in Japan this coming up Thursday will be the 100th Jouto League episode.  Yup, Episode 117 started the whole Jouto League, and Episode 217 comes on the 27th.  So the Jouto League is just seventeen episodes shy of being longer than both the Kanto League and the Orange League COMBINED.  Considering the slow slow pace of the season, I doubt it'll be finished up in seventeen episodes.  Am I the only one who thinks that that's absolutely ridiculous!?  That the animators are dragging out one video game out that long!?  Just end the season already!

I'll have more up soon!  I promise!

Dai Dai Dai Dai Pinch
Wednesday, September 12th, 2001

By now, unless you've been living under a rock somewhere, you've heard about the tragedies in New York, DC, and Pennsylvania.  I was in my dorm room, blissfully playing Tetris Attack when I heard about the plane crashes, and I was stuck to the TV all day.  I mean, it was so surreal that I was watching the deaths of thousands live on TV, especially when the second building fell.

All my prayers and condolences go out to all the victims and their loved ones.  If you're not a minor, please donate blood, because the victims really really need it.  I sincerely hope we don't go to war, because wars are terrible things.

Also, for some reason, the main Episode Comparisons page won't upload, so it's stuck on the old one (without the links to Episodes 5-8).  So use the links below, or just follow the "Next Episode" link on the fourth Episode comparison.

Four Episode Comparisons?!  Not really...
Sunday, September 9th, 2001

Hi all.  This was going to be one of those updates where I have tons of stuff in an attempt to say "I'm sorry" for not updating in so long.  Well, that's kind of true.  I went in to do my Episode 5, 6, 7, and 8 comparison, but it turns out that I only have the dub of the Pippi episode on tape.  So that's the only one that's *really* compared.  I'll keep an eye out for when Kids' WB! airs Episodes 5, 7, and 8 and try to get those out as soon as possible.  I've also made a small revision to my Episode 15 comparison, thanks to Kenneth-san.

I've also updated a few links--Sailor Moon Uncensored's new URL and Journey's new URL.  And I have some new episode titles, both for the Japanese episodes and the dubbed ones, in the Episode Guide...it seems that in Japan, the Pocket Monsters gang are about to compete in a short "Uzumaki KAPPU," or "Whirlpool Cup."  It seems that the Whirlpool Islands have their own little tournament going on, and one of the battles is between Satoshi and Kasumi.  Judging from the episode titles, it'll only last about three episodes, and then the gang will resume travelling through Jouto.

And in other news, there seems to be a rumor that the Myuutsu TV special will come out in the US, direct-to-video, this December under the title "Mewtwo Returns."  Like I said, this is a rumor, but I'm just passing it along.

And I've changed two of the romanizations of pokemon names--I changed one after hearing how the pokemon "Pixy" was prounounced in Episode 6, and then another (#124) because I looked at the name wrong when I first romanized it.

And I have to say this, and it's my site so I will ^_^...my friend Kate-chan's leaving for Japan tomorrow, and she won't be back for a whole year.  Bye Kate-chan!  We'll miss you!
