We're getting closer to next month's release of The Archdjinn of the Rings, Hoopa!  Here's a look at the press reading that took place on Monday, June 8th 2015.

The magnificent special guests were all lined up in a nice row with Pikachu and a Hoopa on the end!  The event started with the narration to Pikachu and the Pokemon Band!  Ms. Yamamoto Mizuki approaches the mike:

Scene 1
(The narrator is worried when Luchabull, who has no self-confidence when it comes to singing, runs away)



Ms. Yamamoto Mizuki's narration is nice and gentle but it matches up well with the tone of the short.  The director was also quick to give out his OK.

Up next was a scene from the main feature The Archdjinn of the Rings, Hoopa!  In this scene were Balza (Fujiwara Tatsuya), Hoopa Unbound (Yamadera Kou'ichi), and Mary (Nakagawa Shouko).

Scene 2
(In this scene the Confinement Urn has been opened.  Hoopa's true form appears)

First up is a rehearsal take.





And then!  A large shadow appears behind Mr. Fujiwara Tatsuya right as he's about to say his line!


How was that, Mr. Director? (grins)


Mr. Shinohara Shin'ichi came out of nowhere and took Balza's line from Fujiwara Tatsuya!

Fujiwara:  "Hey, that was my big line!"
Shinohara:  "The director thought it was OK, didn't he?"
Director:  "Yeah, so let's go ahead and do that one more time."
Shinohara:  "Huh!?  Where did I mess up?"


The room erupted in laughter!  And now, let's do the real take!



This time Mr. Fujiwara's take was given the OK sign. 

Director:  "That was OK with us, but what did you think, Mr. Shinohara?"
Shinohara:  "His take wasn't all that different from mine..."
Director:  "Well that's settled then.  Thank you for giving the OK."

Was Mr. Shinohara Shin'ichi really OK!?

Up next was the final scene of the day!  In this scene we have Balza (Fujiwara Tatsuya), Mary (Nakagawa Shouko), and Hippopotas (Shinohara Shin'ichi)!


Scene 3
(In this scene everyone's combining their power to create another Confinement Urn)

First up is a rehearsal take!








Shinohara:  "Mr. Director!  I can hear the staff giggling over there!  ...But if I keep stepping on Mr. Fujiwara's lines, maybe I can be Balza..."
Nakagawa:  "You're not giving up on that, are you? (laughs)"
Shinohara:  "The shadow that was rejected by Hoopa didn't have anywhere to go..."


Mr. Shinohara's suddenly started reading Mr. Fujiwara's lines!

Director:  "Now if you could just put that same amount of energy into your Hippopotas performance... (laughs)"
Nakagawa:  "This is the first time I've seen such a chaotic press reading! (laughs)"


Of course, everyone was able to nail their lines during the real take and were able to give a strong performance!

And coming in at number one for most number of laughs...Mr. Shinohara!  And with that, the press reading came to a close!  It'll be even harder to wait for the movie's release now after witnessing the special guest stars' give such fantastic performances!

Pokemon the movie XY "The Archdjinn of the Rings, Hoopa" will open together with "Pikachu and the Pokemon Band" on Saturday, July 18th!
