Main Film Basic Synopsis

Crown City is a place where nature, old houses, and new buildings all exist together in harmony.  Satoshi and his friends are heading there to watch a tournament for a new sport, the Pokemon Baccer World Cup.  On the way, they meet Zorroa, a pokemon capable of transforming into other pokemon and humans.  The fox pokemon uses telepathy to tell them that it's looking for its friend, so Satoshi and his friends decide to accompany it to Crown City and help it out.

In the city, the legendary pokemon Celebi is spotted.  This is the first time Celebi has been in Crown City in twenty years.  Meanwhile, the city's legendary guardians are running amok, throwing the citizens into a panic!  People flee for their lives as Raikou's thunder, Entei's flames, and Suicune's deluges destroy the city!  Overseeing the destruction is the president of the Kohdai Network, Grings Kohdai.  He is controlling a pokemon named Zorro'ark, forcing it to use its ability to create illusions!  This Zorro'ark just happens to be the friend for whom Zorroa is searching.

Kohdai, the man who can see the future, is going after Celebi for his own evil purposes!  What in the world kind of secret power does Celebi possess?  What will happen to Crown City?  Will Zorroa be able to meet up with Zorro'ark?  Is Zorro'ark friend or foe?

Notes

For the fourth Diamond & Pearl film, director Yuyama Kunihiko went location hunting in Belgium and the Netherlands to look at the countries' greenery-covered towns and bridges.

Fans who bought an advanced ticket to the movie (sold between April 17th and July 9th) were able to choose between getting one of three shiny legendary beast for their Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver games:  Raikou, Entei, or Suicune.

Those who bring their Nintendo DS and a copy of one of the DS games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver) can download Celebi during the film.

The movie's plot includes a sporting event known as the Pokemon Baccers World Cup (ポケモンバッカーワールドカップ).  Coincidentally (or not?), the 2010 FIFA World Cup wrapped up the day after this film was released in Japan.
