Dogasu's Backpack | Episode Comparisons | Movies and TV Specials

Since 1998, a new Pocket Monsters movie has premiered in Japan every July.  The movies boast bigger budgets, more epic storylines, and sneak peeks at future generations of pokemon.

In the U.S., the movies went from being released theatrically (Movies 01 - 05) to being released directly to DVD.  The amount a movie gets edited varies from film to film; some movies remove all the Japanese music, some have heavy rewrites, some are cropped to 4:3, and some have missing scenes.

Since the Pikachu shorts were aired alongside the movies, they are included on this page as well.

All movies below are listed in the order in which they originally premiered in Japanese theaters.
