There are hundreds of pokemon
characters, and remembering their names can be difficult. It's a
task made even more difficult when these same characters have thier
names changed for English-speaking audiences. Of course,
remembering two sets of names for so many characters is a daunting
task, but these lists should help you out. The pokemon are divided by the generation in which they belong. The first wave of pokemon (the original 151) is referred to as Generation One, the second wave of pokemon discovered is referred to as Generation Two, etc. On each page, a table is present which contains the pokemon's number, its English name, how the character's name appears in Japanese, and the romanized version of that character's name. I have gone over each pokemon individually and carefully considered many different factors before choosing a romanization I believe to be the most representative of the creators' intentions. Some of you may disagree with my romanizations for some of the pokemon, and if you do, feel free to e-mail me and we'll talk about it. Who knows? Maybe we'll learn something from one another! Click on a link below to view the lists. |
