- The Prologue to Its Awakening
While returning to his base after finishing his latest
mission, Virgil of the Pokemon Rescue Squad is forced to make an
emergency landing in some nearby mountains. There, he meets a
young girl named Anna and an old man named Oscar who both tell him
about a mysterious pokemon they've helped out in the past. "That
pokemon...is Mewtwo!"
Suddenly, a mysterious man named Dunk calls out to our heroes. He tells them that he was helped by Mewtwo just the day before and says that it sustained some serious injuries in the process. Virgil and the others rush to find Mewtwo and treat its injuries, but it seems like Mewtwo, who was brought into this world by humans, is unable to trust them! Virgil, with the help of his "Team Eevee" and Anna, call on the pokemon who live in the forest to help them. At that moment, a strange camera begins to follow everyone suspiciously. Dunk lets out a laugh... What in the world is Dunk planning!? And what of Mewtwo's past!? The curtain is about to rise on a tremendous battle with the awakened Mewtwo!!
Mewtwo - The Prologue to Its Awakening aired along with the re-airing of last year's movie, Kyurem vs. The Sacred Swordsman Keldeo as a part of a two hour special (7:00pm - 8:54pm JST). Maeda Atsuko ( 前田敦子), the narrator for Pikachu and Its Eevee Friends, hosted the two hour block. Almost all the members of Team Eevee got recast for this special.
