Main Film Basic Synopsis

Synopsis Two (released April 8th, 2017)
This is to all the Pokemon fans out there
This is the story of the first meeting and of the promise between those two.
The birth of the 20th anniversary movie starts here!

Pocket Monsters, or "Pokemon" for short.
These mysterious creatures hold many mysteries.

There are still a lot of things we don't know about how they live.

Even today, Pokemon Trainers continue traveling around, hoping to meet pokemon they've never seen before...

Satoshi, a boy who lives in Masara Town, is heading toward the morning of his 10th birthday which means he will be eligible to qualify to become a Pokemon Trainer. With his chest filled with the strong desire to see never-before-seen pokemon in a never-before-seen world, Satoshi was supposed to be able to receive a partner pokemon from Dr. Orchid's laboratory. But because he overslept, the only pokemon left for him was a Pikachu who isn't used to humans.

"Do you hate me? Well, I like you!" As the two butt heads, their friendship deepens, little by little. And on the day they set out on their journey, they look up at the legendary pokemon flying overhead, Houou, and make an oath on the rainbow-colored feather Satoshi held in his hand:
"One day, the two of us will go out and meet it together."

And so that's how, in order to become the world's number one Pokemon Master, Satoshi and Pikachu begin their journey. Along the way they meet other Trainers named Makoto and Souji and hear legends about Houou. "Those who follow the path set out by the rainbow-colored feather to meet Houou will become the Rainbow Hero." Satoshi and the others are pointed to the place where Houou lives, Mt. Tensei, by a mysterious pokemon named Marshadow who had been following Satoshi without anyone noticing. However, a strong opponent appears before them! Will Satoshi and Pikachu be able to reach Houou? The adventure to become true partners in order to fulfill the oath they made to each other the day they set out is about to begin!

Synopsis One (released March 2nd, 2017)

Do you know how those two first met?

Even now, Satoshi and Pikachu are the best of partners. But their first meeting was actually the worst!

A bumbling Satoshi who wants to become friends with a Pikachu who won't listen to a word he says...can the two of them become real, honest-to-goodness partners?

On the day they set out from Masara Town, the two of them looked up at the Houou flying above them and made a vow:
"One day, the two of us will go out and meet it together."

Guided by a shining rainbow-colored feather, Satoshi and Pikachu's adventure is about to begin!
