Tickets must be purchased between April 19th (Saturday) and July 18th, 2014 (Friday). Darkrai is able to be downloaded between April 19th (Saturday) and September 30th, 2014 (Tuesday) by inputting the serial code printed on the pre-order ticket. One pokemon per ticket. The same ticket cannot be used to download a Darkrai in multiple games. This promotion is not compatible with foreign versions of the games. Not compatible with any other games in the Pocket Monsters series.

Not compatible with any other games in the Pocket Monsters series. This Diancie cannot be uploaded to the GTS. If you've modified your game using any sort of cheat devices then Diancie may either not download correctly or may corrupt your save data in some way.

Four legendary pokemon - Jiraachi, Victini, Manaphy, and Darkrai - appeared in the short "Pikachu, What is This the Key To?" For this year's pre-order bonus, fans were given the chance to choose which of these four will be the pokemon to be given away.

World Hobby Fair Winter '14 - Visitors who stopped by the Pokemon Booth at the World Hobby Fair Winter '14 were able to fill out a voting card in person. The World Hobby Fair was an event occurring January 19th in Nagoya (Nagoya Dome), January 25th and 26th in Tokyo (Makuhari Messe National Exhibition Hall 9, 10, & 11), February 2nd in Fukuoka (Fukuoka Yahoo Auction! Dome), and February 9th in Osaka (Kyocera Dome Osaka).
Pocket Monsters XY - Pressing the d button on your television remote during particular airings of Pocket Monsters XY brought up a "data broadcasting" screen that enabled you to vote. Your television had to be connected to the Internet in order to participate. Voting could take place on January 16th ("Nymphia vs. Keromatsu! Panic at the Kindergarten!!"), January 30th ("The Mysterious Rain Shelter! Nyasper's Watching You!!"), and February 7th ("Harimaron vs. Mafoxy! A Diet Battle!?") between 19:00 and 19:30 JST.
Pokemon Center - Visitors of any of the eight Pokemon Center stores across Japan (Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Tohoku, Tokyo Bay, Nagoya, and Fukuoka) were able to fill out a voting card in person.
CoroCoro Comics - The February 2014 issue of CoroCoro Comics (on sale January 15th, 2014) included a postcard that could be sent in with your vote. A 50 yen stamp needed to be attached to the postcard. Click on the image below to see a larger version.
The voting deadline was February 10th, 2014 at 16:00 JST. Darkrai ended up winning the poll. The results were announced on March 15th, 2014 in both the April issue of CoroCoro Comics (on sale March 15th) and the movie's official site.
