Released:
Japan:  March 24th, 2005

Buriichi Hiito Za Souru (Bleach:  Heat the Soul) is a first in many ways.  It's the first Bleach video game to be released, but it's also the first 3D fighter for the PSP.  Players control one of several characters from the hit anime series and battles with them in a variety of modes.

The characters included in the game include:

  • Kurosaki Ichigo
  • Kuchiki Rukia
  • Inoue Orihime
  • Ishida Uryuu
  • Yasutora Sado
  • Renji Abarai

Each character, as well as the characters who appear in the cut scenes only (such as Kon) are all played by the voice actors in the anime.

The game offers players a variety of different play modes:

Story Mode:
In this mode, players fight their way through a story that takes the world of Bleach and expands on it.  This all-new story is supervised by the creator of Bleach, Kubo Tite, and promises to offer players an exciting new experience.

Vs. CPU Mode:
In this mode, players have to fight their way through six different opponents, each one controlled by the computer.  You are able to play with any character you choose.

Soul Versus Mode
In this mode, players can face one another using the PSP's wireless LAN capabilities.  Each player is able to play with any character he or she chooses, even if both players choose the same character.

Survival Mode
In this mode, players try to defeat the CPU in a series of consecutive battles.  Your hit points aren't recovered after each battle, so any damage you take remains with you throughout the entire battle.  A record is kept of the player who is able to win the most consecutive battles.

Time Attack Mode
Like in the Vs. CPU Mode, players have to fight their way through six CPU-controlled characters.  The goal of this mode is to beat the players in the fastest time (which can be achieved through the effective use of combos), and the player who beats the mode the fastest has his or her time recorded.

Appendix Mode
This mode enables players to view character bios, view the game's full-motion videos, view an image gallery, listen to character voices, play mini-games, and other secrets of that nature.  You can also buy Cards in the mode's Card Shop using points you earn every time you complete a different mode in the game.  Up to 134 cards can be bought in this way.

The game is available now in Japan, but no release date for the U.S. has been set.
