Letto's talking with his mother and father over a video call one day when, out of nowhere, his mother challenges him to a Pokémon Card Game duel. She explains that the two of them have been getting into the game lately and have actually gotten quite good, and since the Enhanced Expansion Pack: Hot Wind Arena just came out she figures now's as good a time as any to test her skills against her son. She gives Letto until tomorrow to prepare for their remote match.

Letto vs. Ouri

The first part of the battle is only briefly summarized, so some specifics may be missing from the play-by-play presented below. The fact that both players have Stage 1 Pokémon on their Benches in the beginning of the chapter implies we're joining the battle from at least the second turn onward.

This attack does 70 damage for each card you discarded in this way.	Ouri ends the turn by having her Hibiki's Magcargot use its "Lava Burst" attack. Since the Pokémon has five Basic Fire Energy cards attached, the attack does 70 x 5 = 350 damage, causing Letto's Shirona's Gaburias ex to suffer a Knock Out! Letto thinks about what to do next next. He could attach a Basic Fighting Energy card to his Shirona's Gaburias ex, evolve the Shirona's Roselia in the Bench to Shirona's Roserade, use its "Glory Yell" Ability to increase Shirona's Gaburias ex's attack power by 30, and then have Shirona's Gaburias ex use its "Screw Drive" attack to Knock Out Ouri's Hibiki's Magcargot. But if he did that, he decides, Ouri would then just turn around and have her Hibiki's Bakuphoon use its "Buddy Blast" attack to do 160 damage (40 damage + 60 damage for each of the Hibiki's Adventure cards she's discarded throughout the match) and Knock Out his Shirona's Gaburias ex, earning her the last two Prize Cards she needs to win the entire match. The attack deals 350 damage -- the same amount of damage his newly Benched Shirona's Gaburias ex had accumulated -- enabling him to Knock Out his opponent's Hibiki's Houou ex. The Pokémon ex rule means Letto's able to claim the final two Prize Cards for his victory.

After the match ends Letto's mother congratulates her son on having grown so much. But now it seems like his dad's gotten all fired up and wants to battle...!? The chapter ends with the two boys wondering how they can get out of having to participate in yet another battle.
