Retto and Letto get their hands on the Paradise Dragona expansion pack! They start building their deck in a nearby park when they come across a young boy dressed like Dande who seems to be lost. Letto runs off to find his guardian while Retto stays behind and offers to help pass the time by playing the Pokémon TCG.

Round One: Retto's Turn

Retto starts the match off by using a Hyper Ball to summon Radiant Gekkouga. He then uses the Pokémon's "Concealed Cards" Ability to draw two cards, discarding a Basic Fighting Energy card in order to do so.
Tamatama		Precocious Evolution If you go first, you can use this attack during your first turn. Search your deck for a card that evolves from this Pokémon and put it onto this Pokémon to evolve it. Then, shuffle your deck.	He then attaches a Basic Grass Energy card to Tamatama and uses its "Precocious Evolution" to evolve it into Alola Nassy ex.

Round Two: Boy's Turn

Origin Dialga V		Metal Coating Attach up to 2 Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Temporal Rupture (180)	The boy also uses a Super Ball card to summon Origin Dialga V. No attacks are used; this Pokémon is simply sent to the bench

Round Three: Retto's Turn

Next, Retto uses an Akamatsu card to put one Basic Grass Energy card in his hand and attach a Basic Water Energy card to his Alola Nassy ex.
Superior Energy Retrieval		You can use this card only if you discard 2 other cards from your hand. Put up to 4 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand. (You can't choose a card you discarded with the effect of this card.)	He then uses Super Energy Retrieval to pull Basic Fighting, Grass, and Water Energy cards.
Alola Nassy ex		Tropical Fever (150) Attach any number of Basic Energy cards from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like. Swinging Sphene Flip a coin. If heads, if your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, it is Knocked Out. If tails, Knock Out 1 of your opponent's Benched Basic Pokémon.	Retto ends his turn by using Alola Nassy ex's "Tropical Fever" to deal 150 damage to his opponent's Duraludon, Knocking Out the opponent and enabling Retto to take his first Prize Card. He also uses the attack's secondary ability to attach the Grass, Water, and Fighting Energy Cards he has in his hand to his Alola Nassy ex, prepping it to be able to use "Swinging Sphene" in its next turn.

Round Four: Boy's Turn

Hassaku		You can use this card only if any of your Pokémon were Knocked Out during your opponent's last turn. Look at the top 8 cards of your deck and put up to 3 of them into your hand. Shuffle the other cards back into your deck.	Since his Duraludon was knocked out in the previous round the boy is able to use Hassaku to look at the top eight cards of his deck and choose three to put into his hand. He goes with Duraludon (again), Radiant Gekkouga, and a Hyper Ball.
Radiant Gekkouga		Ability: Concealed Cards You must discard an Energy card from your hand in order to use this Ability. Once during your turn, you may draw 2 cards. Moonlight Shuriken Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 90 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)	The boy then uses Radiant Gekkouga's "Concealed Cards" Ability to draw two more cards, discarding a Basic Metal Energy card in order to do so.
Dumbel	N/A	(the comic does not show us which Dumbel card the boy uses)	Evolves Dumbel to Metang.
Metang		Ability: Metal Maker Once during your turn, you may look at the top 4 cards of your deck and attach any number of Basic Metal Energy cards you find there to your Pokémon in any way you like. Shuffle the other cards and put them on the bottom of your deck.	The boy doesn't do anything else with Metang at this point in the match.
Duraludon		Confront (50) Duralubeam Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon.	The boy considers whether to evolve his Duraludon to a regular Briduras with a "Metal Bridge" Ability or a Briduras ex with an "Alloy Build" Ability. He eventually decides to evolve Duraludon to Briduras ex.
Briduras ex		Ability: Alloy Build When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may attach up to 2 Basic Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to your Metal Pokémon in any way you like. Metal Defender (220) During your opponent's next turn, this Pokémon has no Weakness.	He uses Briduras ex's "Alloy Build" Ability to attach two Basic Metal Energy cards to Briduras ex.
Metang		Ability: Metal Maker Once during your turn, you may look at the top 4 cards of your deck and attach any number of Basic Metal Energy cards you find there to your Pokémon in any way you like. Shuffle the other cards and put them on the bottom of your deck.	He then uses Metang's "Metal Maker" Ability to attach two Basic Metal Energy cards to Origin Dialga V.
Briduras ex		Ability: Alloy Build When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may attach up to 2 Basic Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to your Metal Pokémon in any way you like. Metal Defender (220) During your opponent's next turn, this Pokémon has no Weakness.	The boy takes a third Basic Metal Energy card from his hand and attaches it to Briduras ex. Now that Briduras has all the Energy Cards it needs the boy uses "Metal Defender" to deal 220 damage to Retto's Alola Nassy ex, leaving it with only 80 HP left.

Round Five: Retto's Turn

Palkia		Space Crush (40x) This attack does 40 damage for each Basic Energy attached to this Pokémon.	He places Palkia on the bench
Energy Search PRO		Search your deck for any number of Basic Energy cards of different types, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.	He then adds multiple Basic Energy cards to his hand thanks to Energy Search PRO.
Alola Nassy ex		Tropical Fever (150) Attach any number of Basic Energy cards from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like. Swinging Sphene Flip a coin. If heads, if your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, it is Knocked Out. If tails, Knock Out 1 of your opponent's Benched Basic Pokémon.	Retto ends his turn by using "Tropical Fever" to deal 150 damage to the opponent's Briduras ex, leaving it with only half its HP left. He also uses the attack's secondary ability to attach Basic Grass, Water, Lightning, Fire, and Fighting Energy cards to his benched Palkia.

Round Six: Boy's Turn

Origin Dialga V		Metal Coating Attach up to 2 Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Temporal Rupture (180)	The boy moves Origin Dialga V on the battle field.
Duraludon		Confront (50) Duralubeam Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon.	He then returns Duraludon and Briduras ex to the bench, only this time all the damage they had accumulated in the previous rounds is now gone!
Briduras ex		Ability: Alloy Build When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may attach up to 2 Basic Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to your Metal Pokémon in any way you like. Metal Defender (220) During your opponent's next turn, this Pokémon has no Weakness.	Now that Briduras ex is back and fully healed, the boy uses its "Alloy Build" Ability again to attach even more Basic Metal Energy cards to Origin Palkia V.
Origin Dialga V		Metal Coating Attach up to 2 Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Temporal Rupture (180)	Origin Palkia V currently has four Basic Metal Energy cards. The boy wants to try evolving it to Origin Form Dialga VSTAR so he'll have access to its super powerful VSTAR Power "Star Chronos" attack so he just needs some more Basic Energy cards to do so.
Metang		Ability: Metal Maker Once during your turn, you may look at the top 4 cards of your deck and attach any number of Basic Metal Energy cards you find there to your Pokémon in any way you like. Shuffle the other cards and put them on the bottom of your deck.	He tries to use Metang's "Metal Maker" Ability to get the Basic Energy card he'll need but he doesn't pull any. He continues to draw cards, hoping to get either Radiant Gekkouga or a Ball or Origin Dialga VSTAR, but luck is not on his side.
Origin Dialga V		Metal Coating Attach up to 2 Metal Energy cards from your discard pile to this Pokémon. Temporal Rupture (180)	Unable to evolve his Pokémon like he wanted, the boy settles on using Origin Dialga V's "Temporal Rupture" to deal 180 damage and Knock Out Retto's Alola Nassy ex. The boy takes two Prize Cards.

Round Seven: Retto's Turn
Retto considers his next move. He could take the Tamatama in his hand, evolve it into Alola Nassy ex., and then have it use "Swinging Sphene" to KO either a Pokémon on the battlefield or a Pokémon on his opponent's bench, depending on how the coin toss goes. Either way, he'll at least knock out one Pokémon! Another option is to use the Energy Cards in his hand to activate Palkia's "Space Crush" to deal 220 damage to his opponent, knocking it out. But which one should he go with?

Palkia		Space Crush (40x) This attack does 40 damage for each Basic Energy attached to this Pokémon.	Retto decides to attach a Basic Water Energy card to Palkia, giving it six Basic Energy cards altogether. Palkia uses "Space Crush," and six energy cards times 40 damage each = 240 damage, instantly Knocking Out the boy's Origin Palkia V. Retto takes two Prize Cards.

The boy starts crying over his loss; he really wanted to use Origin Dialga VSTAR in battle!

Later, Letto returns to where Retto is and sees that the boy's gone. Retto explains that after the boy lost he started to cry, and the sound of him crying was so loud his guardian was able to find him and rush over to where he was! As the two players return to their room Retto adds this guardian seemed like a really strong guy and that he would have liked to have fought a match with him someday. When Letto asks who the guardian is, he responds that it was none other than the Pokémon Card Game tournament champion, Dande! Letto starts to cry just like the little boy did -- he wanted to fight Dande too!
