24 pages Y is doing her best to become close
friends with the Eevee she caught the day before but the pokemon keeps
running away! She asks Keromatsu to use its Kero Mousse to help
stop this but Eevee puts an end to the attack simply by staring at its
opponent! Later, Eevee runs off again and finds its way to a
carnival where a number of mini games are being played. Y decides
to play Head It, Tile Puzzle, and Berry Picker with her Eevee to help
the two of them bond even more. During all this, X calls Trova
over and tells him that the staring move Eevee used earlier was most
likely Baby-Doll Eyes, one of the newly discovered Fairy-Type
techniques. Suddenly, a Numail belonging to two Flare-Dan grunts
jumps out from the tree where the Berry Picker game is being played and
attacks Y! Eevee jumps forward to save its Trainer, evolves into
Nymphia along the way, and uses its ribbons to send the Flare-Dan
grunts flying. It then finishes off its Dragon-Type opponent with
a kiss move. With their attackers taken care of, Y and the rest
of our heroes resume their journey with their new friend.
Notes Y's Eevee / Nymphia
is nicknamed Bui-Bui (ぶいぶい). It is revealed to be a female.
The kiss move that Nymphia uses at the end of the chapter is never named but is most likely meant to be Drain Kiss.

Fleur-de-Lys notices that Yveltal has the
power to steal life and Xerneas has the power to give it and requests a
copy of the video be made so he can study it further. Meanwhile,
our heroes have arrived in Hakudan City. There, Y presents
everyone with a set of precautions she wants everyone to start taking:
don't go off with strangers, don't give out your real name, don't use
any telephones, etc. Later, our heroes leave the city and try to
recreate the series of events that enabled X's pokemon to Mega Evolve,
hoping to find a way to trigger the transformation at will.
Suddenly, the group is approached by Viola, the camerawoman they saw
back in Asame Town! She reveals that she's the Hakudan City Gym
Leader and invites everyone back to her Gym to look at the recordings
she made of the attack on Asame Town. Sana protests, however,
saying that this exactly the sort of thing Y was warning them
about! She later meets a Trimmien Trainer and is given an
impromptu lesson in pokemon grooming, unaware that the whole thing is a
set-up to allow a Gilguard owned by the Flare-Dan to take over her mind.

X and the others have arrived in Hakudan
City! X battles with Viola, who turns out to be the local
Gym Leader, while the others look through the photos she took of the
Asame Town incident. Y, meanwhile, goes back out into the city to
look for Sana. She eventually finds her friend but notices that
she
doesn't seem to be herself. Later, X defeats Viola and
reveals that he developed a strategy to counter a pokemon's Supersonic
attack during the Junior Tournament he won years earlier. He then
segues into the story of how he received his Mega Ring from a
mysterious stranger. That night, our heroes are sleeping at the
Gym when Y and Viola catch Sana stealing the Key Stone inside Garura's
pocket! Sana turns toward her friends and uses the strange sword
she had been carrying around with her to strike down Viola!
Just then Correa of the Flare-Dan shows up and reveals that the sword
Sana's carrying is really a Hitotsuki and that they've been using a
Gilguard to
control Sana's mind! X and the others eventually manage to move
the battle outside where an unknown woman and her Mega Lucario come to
their aid.

Mega Lucario's Trainer, the Shala City Gym
Leader Corni, jumps onto the scene and orders her pokemon to attack
Correa's Gilguard. She soon notices that none of its attacks are
having any effect on her Ghost-Type opponent and so she decides to help
X retrieve Garura's Key Stone. Corni distracts Correa with some
fancy rollerskating moves while X tries to sneak up behind her and grab
the stone. His attempt fails but -does- force Correa to jump
backwards, landing her right into a web that Viola's Ametama had been
creating in the meantime! Kogaru is able to retrieve the Key
Stone from the immobilized Correa, allowing it to transform into Mega
Garura! During the battle that ensues, Corni finds out that X
didn't go through the "successor ceremony" in order to obtain his Mega
Ring and instead received it from her grandfather Concombre!
Correa eventually retreats, realizing that she's no match for two Mega
Evolved pokemon. Later, Sana comes to and apologizes to everyone
for all that she's done. Corni then approaches X and tells him
that she has no idea why her grandfather gave him the Mega Ring but
that she refuses to recognize him as a true "successor."

24 pages Our heroes are walking along one day when
they are attacked by a wild Onbat. X and his Garura jump out from
under their blanket, make quick work of their attacker, and then return
to their cart. Soon after the five of them are approached by a
man whose job it is to invite Trainers to a newly completed "Super
Training" facility. Once inside the stadium-like dome our heroes
listen to an explanation of the various types of Super Training their
pokemon can undergo. Meanwhile, Y glides through the sky up above
on patrol. She soon discovers that two members of the Flare-Dan
have been following them and that the Onbat from before was one of
theirs! The red-suited grunts have their Onbat use supersonic
waves to mask everyone's sense of hearing, preventing them from issuing
any commands to their pokemon. X, meanwhile, sees a large Whaleko
balloon and motions for his Harimaron to pop it with the spikes on its
head. Soon after the large balloon robot is sent flying through
the air, sending the Flare-Dan agents blasting off in the
process. Now that their pursuers have been taken care of our
heroes resume their journey to Miare City.
Notes Y's Yayakoma's
nickname is revealed to be "Yako-chan" (ヤコちゃん).
Sana's Eneko is nicknamed "Neko-P" (ネコP). There's a Japanese saying, Kabe ni mimi ari shouji ni me ari (かべに耳あり障子に目あり), which is equivalent to "the walls have ears." There's also a bit in there about "and the sliding doors have eyes," but we English speakers don't really say that part. In this chapter of Pocket Monsters Special, Y misquotes this well-known saying as Kabe ni mimi ari shouji ni fearii (かべに耳あり障子にフェアリー), sticking the word "Fairy" (as in "Fairy-Type") in place of me ari, producing something like "The walls have ears and the sliding doors have Fairy." X's first line of dialogue in this chapter is to correct her.

Our heroes are back on the road to Miare
City when Trova decides to try something out; what if X gives Garura's
Mega Stone to other pokemon? Will they Mega Evolve too?
After a failed attempt to Mega Evolve Harimaron, our heroes come across
a Hitokage out in the field. They quickly befriend the Fire-Type
and take it with them into the bustling metropolis that is Miare
City. Once inside, Trova tells the story of how he became
acquainted with Platane-Hakase but later admits that he doesn't
actually know where his lab is. The gang is suddenly approached
by Dexio and Sina, a duo of Masked Heroes who accuse our heroes of
kidnapping Hitokage! After clearing up the misunderstanding X and
the others are taken to Platane-Hakase's laboratory where the professor
notices that X doesn't trust him and challenges him to a pokemon
battle. Trova and the others, meanwhile, are sent to the
professor's friend Fleur-de-Lys to get their Holocasters fixed.
Is this be the mysterious man our heroes noticed in one of the photos
Viola took in Asame Town? Elsewhere, Xerocisy discovers that the
legendary pokemon Xerneas had disguised itself as a tree in the middle
of a forest.
Notes
The
report Trova
looks up during the flashback is the "90% of all pokemon are related
through evolution" (ポケモンの90%は進化に関係している) report that was written by
Nanakamado-Hakase, a reference to the fact that Platane-Hakase
supposedly trained under Nanakamado-Hakase.Top

As Fleur-de-Lys repairs our heroes'
Holocasters, Trova finds himself feeling uneasy around the devices'
inventor. Meanwhile, Platane-Hakase notices that X isn't giving
their battle everything he's got. Harimaron, on the other hand,
refuses to back down and earns X's respect even though it ends up
losing the battle after all. X announces that he's decided to
officially make Harimaron his pokemon and then expresses interest in
training the professor's Hitokage as well. Back at the lab, the
Kalos League Champion Carnet shows up with her Mega Sirnight to let
Fleur-de-Lys know that she's keeping her eyes on him. He says he
understands and adds that he only wants to preserve the beauty that's
in the world before it withers away. He then excuses himself from
the room after receiving a call from Xerocisy asking permission to
bring the hibernating Xerneas back to their headquarters. As he
rides his Gyarados through the sky, Fleur-de-Lys tells his pokemon that
it'll soon be able to Mega Evolve just like Carnet's can. Back in
Miare City, Carnet bids our heroes farewell right as Trova passes out
from a fever! At that moment X and Platane-Hakase arrive on the
scene riding a couple of Gogoat.
Notes
X's Harimaron's
nickname is "Mariso" (マリソ), which seems to come from its species'
French name "Marisson."
