From the creators

Author
Yamamoto Satoshi
"When I was a high school student my dream was "to be able to watch special effects movies from the 1960s and action TV shows in my house whenever I want."  My wish was more or less granted nearly ten years later but what about the hero of our story Black?  Did his dream come true?  And what goes through the heads of those whose dreams have come true and of those whose dreams have been shattered?  The BW Chapter, a story of dreams, is finally coming to a close."
Kusaka Hidenori
"When we were getting ready for the Tenth Chapter we thought about what black and white things the children who read this manga will be familiar with when we heard that the new games were going to be called "Black" and "White."  We came up with things like "bar codes" and "QR codes"...things you use to read information.  That was our starting point for coming up with our main character.  It's something noticed a while ago but is also something we keep seeing even today.  It's the final reading time...the final Deduction Time.  I always feel this way whenever the curtain closes on another Chapter."

As the battle continues, the Sanyou Gym Leaders tell the Dark Trinity that they followed them to the P2 Lab to see what they're planning.  Additionally, they managed to pick up evolutionary stones along the way!  As their newly evolved Yanakkey, Baokkey, and Hiyakkey begin to fight back, Keldeo and the others arrive at a cliff overlooking the lab.  Keldeo observes that while the Dark Trinity's pokemon are stronger, their battle is driven by the fear of what their trainers will do to them if they lose.  The Sanyou trio's pokemon, on the other hand, know that they are loved by their trainers and are genuinely enjoying the battle.  The four legendary deer pokemon decide to help the "good humans" by using their "swords" to defeat the Dark Trinity's pokemon.  Later, Cobalon commends Keldeo on its battle but adds that it'll need to have "resolution" if it wants to become stronger.  As the Dark Trinity retreats, they stagger over to the P2 Lab to unleash their secret weapon, Genosect!  The "hunter" pokemon fires a beam at Keldeo but Virizion and the others jump in its path and take the attack.  Keldeo watches helplessly as its mentors are turned to stone.

Notes
Despite being featured on the title page of the magazine version, N, G'Cis, the Goddesses, and the Seven Sages do not make an appearance in this chapter.

This chapter is given a different ending for the graphic novel release.  In the magazine version the Dark Trinity retreats and the Sanyou Gym Leaders all vow to start their training over from the beginning.  In the graphic novel version, however, the Dark Trinity unleashes Genosect and has it turn the deer pokemon into a large lump of...stone?  Ice?  It's not entirely clear.

Black puts Cheren down and then rushes over to where Grey, aka Seven Sage Vio, is tied up to find out where the missing Gym Leaders are.  During Black's interrogation, it is revealed that Shaga and Iris have evacuated the league spectators to the Four Heavenly Emperors' area to keep them safe.  Meanwhile Hachiku, who's worried about White after losing contact with her, ventures underneath the Pokemon League to find her.  There, Hachiku is ambushed by the rest of the Seven Sages and taken hostage.  Back upstairs, a terrible rumbling shakes the stadium as a massive castle rises up from beneath the ground and walls off the Pokemon League on all sides!  G'Cis, N, and the rest of the Plasma-Dan descend from N's Castle and, after taking everyone hostage, displays the captured Gym Leaders up on crucifixes!  Elsewhere, Hoodman appears before the Four Heavenly Emperors and brings out the Kami Trio to keep them busy so the Plasma-Dan can continue to act unhindered.  As G'Cis tells Black about how hopeless his situation is, the various trainers Black's met throughout his journey burst onto the scene and offer to rescue the Gym Leaders!  Now able to move freely, Black sets his sights on N and Zekrom!

Notes
The trainers who gather at the end are Janitor Shinosuke, Baker Yoshie, Doctor Teruyuki, Bike Gang Leader Hideaki, Leader of the Minezumi Show Shohko, Bourgeoisie Trish, and Mountain Man Natsumi.

Graphic Novel Version (31 pages)
The Seven Sages step forward to fight against Natsumi and the other trainers so Black sends his pokemon down to help Natsumi and the others.  Black then turns to N and his Zekrom.  Araragi-Hakase's father approaches Black and updates his Pokemon Zukan for him with all the information he's gathered about the legendary dragon duo.  Thanks to this update, Black finds out that Zekrom and Reshiram both have signature attacks that become more powerful when launched after the other's.  He then turns to his partner and decides that it's a waste of time to fret over the whys and hows of him being chosen as the "Hero of Truth" and should just focus on working with Reshiram to win this battle instead.  Just then, Zekrom goes into Overdrive mode and fires off a Cross Thunder, giving Black a glimpse of exactly how these attacks work. Black knows that Reshiram will go down if it's hit one more time, so he has Reshiram wait to fire off its Cross Flame attack immediately after Zekrom's Cross Thunder.  Reshiram leaps out of the way just as its powered-up Cross Flame attack hits its target, knocking Zekrom to the ground and knocking it out!

CoroCoro Ichiban! Version (30 pages)

The Seven Sages step forward to fight against Natsumi and the other trainers.  With the help of Black's pokemon, the seven trainers are able to distract the Plasma-Dan long enough to enable Shohko's Minezumi to eat through the ropes trapping the Gym Leaders.  Above, Renbu, Cattleya, and Shikimi of the Four Heavenly Emperors interrupt Black's and N's battle to tell them that they now know where White's being kept!  Inside N's room, White wakes up to see Helene and Verbena, N's attendants, watching over her.  Suddenly, Bubu-chan approaches White and indicates that it wants to return to the world of acting!  Elsewhere, the Gym Leaders are helping wrap up the battle with the Seven Sages when Giima is revealed to have been working with Hoodman the entire time!  But the Gigigearl that's usually under Hoodman has been replaced with a much faster pokemon...?  Back on the battlefield, N's Zorroa rushes forward and disrupts the battle, showing N that there really are pokemon who are happier being together with humans.  N asks Black to forgive him and says he has to think long and hard about his next move before hopping on his Zekrom and flying off into the rising sun.

Pokémon Fan Version (24 pages)
The battle between Black and Reshiram and N and Zekrom begins!  As Black wonders why Reshiram keeps ignoring him and just does whatever it wants, Araragi-Hakase's father approaches Black and updates his Pokemon Zukan for him with newly gathered information about the legendary dragon duo.  Thanks to this update, Black finds out that Zekrom and Reshiram both have signature attacks that become more powerful when launched immediately after the other's.  He then turns to his partner and decides that it's a waste of time to fret over the whys and hows of him being chosen as the "Hero of Truth" and should just focus on working with Reshiram to win this battle instead.  Just then, Zekrom goes into Overdrive mode and fires off a Cross Thunder, giving Black a glimpse of exactly how these signature attacks work. Graphic Novel Version (33 pages)
The Four Heavenly Emperors track down the Kami Trio again and resume their battle.  Meanwhile, G'Cis approaches Black and announces that N is his son!  The sage continues by stating that his plan was to display the organization's absolute power so they'll have the clout needed to convince the people that liberating their pokemon is the right thing to do.  That way, the Plasma-Dan can have all the pokemon to themselves!  The people cannot be allowed to know that their "king" was defeated so G'Cis will have to eliminate Black!  Unfortunately, the pokemon in G'Cis' party - Sazandra, Shibirudon, Gamageroge, and Deathkan - were all chosen specifically because they're strong against Black's pokemon!  Black has Musharna eat his dreams to help him see that a fifth pokemon, Ulgamoth, has been giving the others support from above.  Once that pokemon's flames are stamped out, Black has his team defeat G'Cis' pokemon in one massive melee attack!  As G'Cis runs away, Black has his Protoga trap him with Stone Edge!  Elsewhere, Hoodman realizes that the mirror he has won't change the Kami trio into their Reijuu Forms and retreats to do some more research.  Back at the castle, White reunites with Black.

Pokémon Fan Version (24 pages)
G'Cis approaches the now victorious Black and announces that N is his son!  The chief of the Plasma-Dan's Seven Sages continues by stating that his plan was to gain the people's trust by displaying the organization's overwhelming power and therefore earn them the authority needed to convince those who haven't liberated their pokemon yet to go ahead and do so.  They can't allow a single person to be seen as stronger than them, however, so G'Cis says that Black will have to be eliminated.  Reshiram is too tired to fight back so Black calls on his other pokemon to battle G'Cis.  However, the pokemon in G'Cis' party - Sazandra, Shibirudon, Gamageroge, and Deathkan - were all chosen specifically to fight against the trainer who's gotten in the Plasma-Dan's way so many times before!  Black has his Musharna eat his dreams to help him see that a fifth pokemon, Ulgamoth, has been giving the others support from out of sight.  Once that pokemon's flames are stamped out, Black has his team defeat G'Cis' pokemon in one massive melee attack!  As G'Cis runs away, Black has his Protoga trap him with a Stone Edge attack!  Is this the end of the Plasma-Dan?

As N comes to, Black tells the king of the Plasma-Dan that he could tell that he was a decent guy who puts the happiness of pokemon before his own from the day they met in Karakusa Town.  N responds by bidding everyone farewell, saying that he needs to figure out what he's going to do next on his own.  Once N and Zekrom have gone, Black's Reshiram starts to look agitated.  Without an opponent to fight against, Reshiram has started reverting back into the Light Stone.  Suddenly, Black is drawn to Reshiram's stomach like a piece of metal to a magnet while G'Cis Teleports away with an Ohbem.  Reshiram finishes its transformation into the Light Stone, taking Black along with it.  As White watches helplessly, the stone jumps into the air and then flies off into the distance.  Later, Hoodman, who's revealed to be Achroma of the Plasma-Dan, thanks G'Cis for giving him the opportunity to collect so much data at the Pokemon League.  Elsewhere, a young girl named White-Two chooses one of N's old partner pokemon - a Tamagetake - to take with her as she and the other remaining Plasma-Dan members set off on their next journey.
