The battle between Scarlet and Nanjamo
continues! The Gym Leader uses her Mumage's Ghost Dive to KO
Scarlet's Gurenarma and then its Confuse Ray to cause her Nyarote to KO
itself, but Scarlet turns things around when her Pikachu uses a
combination of Play Nice and Thief to knock out Mumage before it even
has a chance to Terastallize! Meanwhile, Violet and Peper are traveling
through the Roast Desert when they hear that the Star-Dan's Team
Schedar is looking to recruit Violet as a bodyguard! Peper is worried
this will sidetrack their hunt for the next Special Spice so Violet
leaves Peper behind to search the area himself while he runs off to see
about Team Schedar. Back in Hakkou City, Scarlet drops in on a secret
late night meeting being held by Omodaka, Chili, and Raifor. She pulls
Raifor aside and learns that she was the one who requested she look
into the "Calamitous Pokémon," with Raifor explaining her goal
is to eventually capture the Pokémon to prevent them falling
into the wrong hands. Scarlet accepts, on the condition they admit a
good friend of hers into the academy. Raifor adds that a Pokémon
known as "Iron Serpent" seems to be the key to unsealing the Calamitous
Pokémon and suggests Scarlet find and meet up with Violet, the
boy who showed up at the school orientation ceremony with a Miraidon.
Just then, Scarlet gets a call from Team Schedar...it seems like
they're considering Scarlet to be their new bodyguard...?

Violet is getting closer to the Star-Dan’s Team Schedar base as wave after wave of grunts attack the young Trainer. The battles end up providing valuable experience for Violet’s Pokémon – they even enable his Mamebata to evolve into Exleg – but they’re starting to test Violet’s patience. He discovers the Star-Dan has a wanted poster of him out and so he comes up with a plan to trick them. Over on the base itself, meanwhile, Scarlet has arrived and finds a way to sneak in to have a face-to-face meeting with Meloco. Scarlet rejects the bodyguard job offer she was contacted about and then reminds Meloco of just how much better the Star-Dan was a year ago. Also, didn’t there used to be a bunch of Carbou on this base…? On her way out, Scarlet overhears some grunts talking about Violet’s approach and so she searches the area until she finds him. She asks Violet, who’s now wearing an academy uniform so he can pass under the Star-Dan’s radar, to hand over his Miradon, promising she’ll return it once she’s located the Calamitous Pokémon. When he doesn’t immediately hand it over she uses her Tamantula to tie him up then and takes it by force. Nelke and then Nemo catch up with Violet, free him, and wonder what to do about this Scarlet character. Later , in the Roast Desert, Peper is eagerly waiting for Violet to return when he hears his Miraidon approach. But who’s this riding on its back…? 25 pages Peper starts preparing sandwiches for Scarlet and Miraidon. As the three enjoy a meal together, Peper learns that both he and Scarlet will eventually need to track down the Special Spices – Peper to revive his Mafitiff, Scarlet to restore Miraidon’s powers and have it help her track down the Calamitous Pokémon – and so they start brainstorming ideas of where the next Leader Pokémon might be. A quick chat with their mutual acquaintance Cassiopeia reveals that sightings of a “Lurking Steel Leader” have been made in East Province Area Three, prompting the newly formed party to head toward the mines near Hakkou City. Meanwhile, Violet, Nemo, and Nelke prepare to take on the Star-Dan’s Team Schedar base. Violet runs on ahead, finally giving Nemo the chance to tell Nelke that she knows who he really is. Their conversation gets cut short, however, when an announcement on the base’s loudspeakers alerts everyone to the trio’s arrival. Violet and Nemo start making quick work of the base’s grunts, with the battle starved Nemo enjoying the experience a lot more than she thought she would. Outside, the Team’s leader Meloco gets tired of waiting and demands Violet be brought out to her right away. Violet is located, lifted up, and physically carried outside where his Pokémon are abruptly attacked by Meloco’s Cotoise. Meloco’s Fire-Type instantly KOs Violet’s Minive and Exleg, leaving him to wonder what to do next. Elsewhere, Nelke notices a large number of Carbou have started gathering around the cliffs above them… Notes This chapter was added to the CoroCoro Comics website on December 20th, 2024. 25 pages The sun beats down on Violet as his Doe'oh uses Slam attack to take down Meloco's Cotoise. Meloco responds by having her Starmobile KO Doe'oh, leaving Violet with only one Pokémon left. Before he can respond, however, Violet collapses from the intense heat! Nemo rushes over to her fallen comrade and has her Kusassu use Rain Dance to help wake him up, an action that also causes it to evolve into Wellkamo! Nemo then notices the crowd of Carbou overheard had been focusing their Sunny Day attacks directly on Violet in an attempt to hinder him during his match. The Star-Dan leader tells off the Fire-Types for interfering and vows to finish her battle with Violet fair and square. Meloco has her Starmobile use Blazing Torque over and over, increasing its speed so much in the process that Violet doesn't even have time to issue any commands to his Achigator! He eventually finds a way to spit out "Stomping Tantrum," however, enabling Achigator to use the powerful Ground-Type attack to defeat Meloco's Starmobile! After Violet's victory, Nelke reveals to Meloco he tried to look up information about something called "Operation Stardust" but found that all the records had been erased. The Star-Dan is eventually left to do as they please as Botan arrives to provide Violet with his reward for beating Team Schedar. She then reveals Scarlet and Peper are heading to East Province Area Three, prompting Violet and Nemo to hop onboard a taxi to catch up with them. 25 pages Scarlet and Peper make their way through East Province Area Three in search of the next Leader Pokémon, Lurking Steel. They stop to have a picnic only to have it interrupted by an appearance by the very Pokémon they were looking for, a giant Mimizuzu! The Steel-Type disappears underground as soon as it appears and so Violet’s Miraidon, as if by instinct, chases after it. Miraidon quickly unearths its prey, allowing Scarlet and Peper to have their Gurenarma and Scovillain, respectively, use their super-effective Fire-Type attacks on the Steel-Type Pokémon. Mimizuzu retreats again and so Scarlet and Violet follow it into a cave where they’re lured into one of Mimizuzu’s tunnels. Suddenly, dirt starts raining down from above as Mimizuzu tries to bury them alive! Meanwhile, over in Champloo Town, Botan’s at the Treasure Eatery eavesdropping on a video feed of Nelke talking to members of the Star-Dan. The grunts tell Nelke why some students decide to join the Star-Dan, how the organization is being supported by one of their boss’ rich friends, and how there are some within the group unhappy with their current leader. They soon leave Nelke behind and meet up at the Treasure Eatery where they also start talking about how ineffective their boss is, even going so far as to start plotting against Star-Dan itself? The grunts soon realize that Botan had overheard everything they just said and so they corner her to shut her up. Suddenly, the Gym Leader Aoki appears on the scene! 25 pages One of
the Star-Dan grunts who had stayed behind to pay the restaurant bill
sees his three teammates get completely overpowered by the Gym Leader
Aoki. Botan, meanwhile, makes a run for it and so the fourth grunt
decides to follow behind. Later, Violet and Nemo’s taxi arrives at East
Province Area Three. They soon spot Lurking Steel, aka the giant
Mimizuzu who had been attacking Scarlet and Pepa just moments before,
and so they hop down to meet it. Violet and Nemo call on the
Pokémon they think will be a good match for the Steel-Type and
have them all use their super effective attacks to weaken Mimizuzu
enough to send it running. The giant Pokémon enters one of the
caves in the area and emerges with one of the Special Spices in its
mouth! The quick snack break’s given Mimizuzu a second wind that it
immediately uses to swat the Trainers’ Pokémon entire team away.
All seems lost when the giant Steel-Type’s suddenly hit by one of
Gurenarma’s fire attacks! Scarlet and Pepa have managed to escape the
cave they had fallen into and now join Violet and Nemo to defeat the
Leader Pokémon once and for all. Later, Pepa picks the Salty
Special Spice from the cave and gives it to his Mafitiff, restoring its
ability to bark, and Miraidon, who can now jump higher than before.
Later, Cassiopeia contacts the four of them with a new mission: leave
immediately to take on the Star-Dan’sTeam Tsih's base.
