On Purupiquer Mountain Road, the Star-Dan grunt who had been tailing Botan gets knocked out when he steps into a trap set by her Showers and Thunders. Meanwhile, in East Area Three, Violet questions Cassiopeia about their mission to take on the Star-Dan's Team Tsih base, learning that the current in-fighting within the team makes now the perfect time to take down the remaining three bases. Nemo eventually offers to take on the base herself, along with a reluctant Scarlet, while Violet and Peper agree to search for the rest of the Secret Spices. That night, the Star-Dan grunt that had been beaten by Botan finally wakes up and alerts his teammates their plans might have been compromised. Various other groups – Principal Clavell at the Grape Academy, the leader of the Team Tsih base Shuumei – also get word of the impending attack and begin to make their own preparations. As Nemo and Scarlet -- who's now wearing a disguise to make her look like Violet -- find themselves lost in the nearby Tagtree Thicket, they notice the overpowering aroma caused by the Shirushrew and Taggingru in the area. They continue to wander around the forest, lost, unaware they’re being watched. Over in Chanpuru Town, meanwhile, Peper and the real Violet stop by the Treasure Eatery for a bite to eat. One of the restaurant's customers -- the Gym Leader Aoki -- learns Violet is the academy student rumored to have defeated three Boss Pokémon, and challenges him to a battle. Notes
This was the first chapter to debut exclusively on the CoroCoro Comics website. Most chapters of Pocket Monsters Special Scarlet & Violet are 25 pages, but this one comes in at 33 pages. According to this post by artist Satoshi Yamamoto, the chef who appears at the end of the chapter is indeed modeled after the chef in the Treasure Eatery, but as he started drawing her she started to look more and more like actress Satomi Kobayashi as well as a mix of someone you'd see in other comics like Kodoku no Gurume as well as the movie Kamome Diner. A cook at the academy also provided inspiration for the character design. ![]()

27 pages Nelke, who had been waiting outside the Tagtree Thicket, enters the forest to see what’s taking “Violet” and Nemo so long. He soon crosses paths with a young Academy student named Hironobu, who tells Nelke he’s been observing members of the Star-Dan going in the opposite direction of the Tsih base. Could the rumors of in-fighting within the team really be true? Over in Chanpuru Town, Aoki more or less forces Violet to sign up for a Gym Battle before he can leave town. Violet gets started on the Gym Test, and as he battles with the other challengers he starts thinking about how he might want to compete in the other gyms sometime. Violet eventually gets all the clues needed to place a special order at the restaurant, officially earning him the chance to battle Aoki. First up: Aoki’s Nekkoala vs. Violet’s Exleg. Aoki’s Pokémon is quickly KO’ed and so he sends out his Nokokocchi, who then proceeds to knock out Exleg. Violet sends out Minive next, who uses a combination of its slippery oils and its Sleep Talk attack to defeat Aoki’s Pokémon. Just then, Violet’s Minive evolves into Olinyo! Aoki’s final Pokémon is Mukuhawk, so Violet swaps out Olinyo for his Doe’oh. Aoki Terastalizes his Pokémon and so Violet does the same, only Violet’s Terastal Pokémon is now a Rock-Type!? Doe’oh is now able to use Rock Slide to KO Aoki’s Pokémon, earning him the Normal Badge and the OK to go after his fourth Boss Pokémon. Notes This chapter is closer in page count to the CoroCoro Ichiban! chapters than Chapter 19 was, though it's still two pages longer than the average chapter. Top

22 Pages Aoki is watching Violet and Peper leave Chanpuru Town behind when he’s suddenly confronted by Omodaka and the other members of the Four Heavenly Kings! Lately the Pokémon League office’s been getting complaints from people who’ve been attacked by members of the Star-Dan and so they talk to Aoki, who’s reportedly even intervened a time or two, to see what he knows. The Four Heavenly Kings also tell him that the Star-Dan’s recruited a Treasure Hunter who’s after the "Calamitous Pokémon” and that they have reason to believe this so-called “fake student” is none other than Scarlet Koito…!? Over at the Team Tsih base, Shuumei is nearby when Scarlet and Nemo wake up. The team leader tells the two how to escape, explaining that while he does want to protect his base he also doesn’t want to cause them any unnecessary harm. He then notices that Scarlet, a girl, is dressed in a boy’s school uniform, causing him to wonder if maybe she enjoys sneaking around like a kuno’ichi. Shuumei’s love of ninjutsu and Scarlet’s apparent knowledge of the martial arts creates an instant bond that Scarlet tries to leverage to get the team leader to give up the base peacefully, but Shuumei gets offended by his perceived mockery of his hobbies and initiates a Pokémon battle instead. Nemo runs off to take care of the rest of the grunts as Scarlet finds herself caught in Shuumei’s poison traps, unable to use the Pokémon or attacks she wants to use! Notes This chapter can be read for free on the official CoroCoro Comics website here. Artist Satoshi Yamamoto shared this alternate image of the title page featuring a full look at Scarlet in her kuno'ichi uniform. According to this post on X (Twitter), Mr. Yamamoto, the Pocket Monsters Special artist did the following to prepare for this ninja-themed chapter:

![]() 18 Pages There aren’t enough Star-Dan Pokémon left for Nemo to finish her Star Barrage and so she asks the remaining grunts to go get reinforcements. Elsewhere, Nelke runs into a group of runaway Poison Squad grunts. He learns how the stronger members of the group have begun picking on the weaker ones, creating a new sort of hierarchy of ex-students that kind of resembles what was going on at the Grape Academy when they had left it in the first place. The grunts who had been battling Nemo arrive on the scene and asks everyone to come help defend their base. Meanwhile, Shuumei’s battle with Scarlet continues. Her Tamantula’s able to connect with Shuumei’s Skuntank using a well timed Circle Throw attack and so Shuumei recalls it and sends out his Betbeton next. Scarlet attempts to call on her Gurenarma, but Shuumei’s ninjutsu somehow causes her to summon Nyarote instead...!? Nemo and Hironobu arrive on the scene to cheer on their respective friends as Shuumei has his Betbeton use Sludge Wave to KO Scarlet’s Nyarote. Hironobu explains that Shuumei’s using his “Ol' Dyes Ninja Technique” to cloud Scarlet’s vision, preventing her from being able to see clearly enough to pick the correct Pokémon! Scarlet manages to summon her Gurenarma next but it soon succumbs to Skuntank’s Night Slash. All seems lost for the dazed and confused Scarlet until one of her Monster Balls rolls itself into some nearby grass and begins to flash. Suddenly, a dolphin fin emerges from the grass… Notes This chapter can be read for free on the official CoroCoro Comics website here. Artist Satoshi Yamamoto notes on this X (Twitter) post that this month's chapter has fewer pages than usual because he had also been busy with other work simultaneously. It was later revealed that both Mr. Yamamoto and Kusaka Hidenori spent June and July 2025 working on Pokémon Ranger: Let's Learn with the Rangers Ise-Shima National Park (ポケモンレンジャー・レンジャーと学ぼう伊勢志摩国立公園), a 16-page full color comic created for the Ise-Shima National Park. ![]() 18 Pages All of a sudden Irukaman (Hero Form) appears underneath Shuumei’s Starmobile, lifts it up, and tosses both it and its driver across the battlefield! Shuumei’s Skuntank is also defeated. Now that the Team Tsih base leader is no longer able to battle Scarlet is declared the victor and given the antidote to Shuumei’s poison, though she’s not exactly happy about having been poisoned in the first place. Nelke then approaches the fallen members of the Star-Dan to ask them to tell him more about this so-called “Operation Stardust.” Hironobu reveals that the Grape Academy has indeed gotten better as a result of their efforts and so he tried to return to school, only to be turned away by grunts who have since fallen into delinquency. Other Star-Dan grunts, however, have found a way to return to school without their teammates noticing. Later, Raifort calls Scarlet and asks her to meet her at the Watchtower in East Province (Area Three). Omodaka also calls Nemo and asks her to meet her in Champuru Town, saying that only Champion level Trainers are invited and that she’d therefore have to come alone. With that, the two traveling companions part ways. Over in Carafe City, Violet and Peper go to the Haidai Club to challenge the next Gym Leader, Haidai, only to find out he’s gone missing. They learn he apparently went out to the Roast Desert but hasn’t come back yet and so the two adventurers head back into the desert to find him. Notes This chapter can be read for free on the official CoroCoro Comics website here. This chapter, like the previous one, is also only eighteen pages. No reason's been provided for the smaller page count.

![]() 25 Pages Violet and Peper spot two Pokémon in the Roast Desert: their old friend Tetsunowadachi and a second Pokémon who looks like it could be one of Donphan’s ancestors! The two guess these Pokémon will probably be weak to their Grass and Water-Types, and this knowledge combined with all the experience they’ve accumulated gives them the confidence needed to take on these Paradox Pokémon. Violet then reveals he went and got himself a Mototokage as a sort of insurance policy back when Scarlet “borrowed” Miraidon from him. Violet lends Mototokage to Peper while he hops on Miraidon. Riding at high speeds, Peper goads the older looking Paradox Pokémon – Idainakiba -- into following him, leading it away from Tetsunowadachi so the two Trainers can attack each Pokémon one at a time. They succeed in causing significant damage to Idainakiba but are soon shocked when Tetsunowadachi arrives to help it!? Peper soon notices the two have been munching on a Secret Spice this whole time and guesses they’re working together to keep intruders like them away from these herbs! Meanwhile, Scarlet meets up with Raifort as agreed. The educator tells Scarlet the academy already knows she’s the “fake student” they’ve been looking for and that it’ll therefore be difficult for her to return to the school to search its library. But Scarlet’s not too worried; she’ll just take on the identity of some other student to get through the school’s doors. She leaves the area, telling Raifort to wait for her next report. Notes It is likely this chapter will be made available to be read for free on the official CoroCoro Comics website on October 3rd, 2025. This chapter goes back to being 25 pages. Top

![]() 25 Pages Peper frantically speeds away from the two Paradox Pokémon on the back of Violet’s Mototokage as they continue to rampage through the Roast Desert. He eventually takes refuge at the top of a Watchtower where he gets a call from Violet. The “Speed Prince” tells him that he’s found Haidai (as well as the home economics teacher Saguaro) and will be arriving at his location on the back of Haidai’s Pelipper shortly. As Peper waits, both Idainakiba and Tetsunowadachi seem to have figured out a way to climb the tower! Violet soon arrives and hands over a gift – a Water Stone – to allow Peper to evolve his Shellder into Parshen. The two Trainers set their sights on Idainakiba first, combining all their Pokémon’s Grass and Water-Type attacks to bring down the titan. A similar use of teamwork is used to take down Testsunowadachi, KOing both Paradox Pokémon! In the aftermath of the battle, Peper learns that Haidai came across Violet when he went down into the caves after dropping his Rotom Smartphone. The Pokémon Trainers, as well as Haidai and Saguaro, soon get to work searching for the Sour Secret Spice in the area, eventually finding them growing in a cave nearby. Meanwhile, over in Champuru Town, Nemo finally finds herself surrounded by Omodaka and the Four Heavenly Kings. Omodaka asks her to provide them with whatever information she has about her traveling companion Scarlet, but is it really OK for Nemo to tell them what they want to know…? Notes N/A |
