Friender-Man's in his apartment, admiring the special Celebi Frienda pick that comes packaged with this month's issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!, when a sudden cry for help prompts him to dash outside. It turns out his old friend Renda hasn't been able to get his hands on the Celebi Frienda pick yet and so Friender-Man temporarily lends him the one he has. Renda starts up a game of Pokémon Frienda and works his way up to being able to activate Celebi's Z-Move. Friender-Man explains Renda will need to rapidly swipe up on the bars that appear across the arcade cabinet's touch screen in order to power up Celebi's attack, with the attack power going up the more times he's able to swipe up. Renda gets a pretty low score his first try around and so Friender-Man decides he needs to undergo some special emergency training. He has Renda dress up like a Nyaoha and then start batting at a cat toy he happens to have on him in an effort to increase the speed of his hand movements...!? After practicing like this for a short while Renda tries another round of Pokémon Frienda. This time, the training pays off as he's able to get a much, much higher Z-Move score. Celebi uses a super powerful Bloom Doom attack, defeating the enemy and earning Renda a Kyojiohn Frienda pick. A few days later Renda manages to finally get a Celebi Frienda pick of his own, enabling him to continue practice using Z-Moves. Notes This chapter can be read for free on the CoroCoro Comics website. There was no chapter in the previous issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!, making this the second chapter. This chapter was included as part of the "Pokémon Frienda Super Walkthrough Book" (ポケモンフレンダ超攻略BOOK), a supplemental booklet that came with the November 2024 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! The Celebi pick featured in the comic is the same one that came packaged in the November 2024 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! and is featured heavily on the cover of both the magazine itself and the booklet that contains the manga.

Renda sits down to play a game of Pokémon Frienda when he’s visited by Friender-Man! The arcade game themed superhero’s stopped by to give Renda the “Support Pokémon Ticket” featuring Tetsunokoube, the one that comes packaged in this month’s CoroCoro Ichiban!, so he can try it out for himself. Support Pokémon Tickets, Friender-Man explains, allow you to use an extra attack during your turn you wouldn’t be able to use otherwise. Renda immediately puts Tetsunokoube to the test when he faces off against three Treasure Pokémon in the Pokémon Frienda game. In his first match, Renda’s Dinlu and an opponent Yadoking trade attacks with one another before Renda gets an in-game prompt letting him know he can activate Tetsunokoube’s Air Slash attack. The additional attack scores a critical hit, earning Renda his first victory of the day. Renda continues to progress through the Pokémon Frienda game, winning battle after battle, until he comes across an ultimate challenge: a five-star Zarude! Renda starts off by having his Paojian use Ice Spinner, so Zarude responds with a Power Whip that knocks out Renda’s Ice-Type. The young boy wonders what to do next when Friender-Man tells him he can use…Tetsunokoube!? It turns out Support Pokémon Tickets aren’t just there to provide extra attacks, they’re also able to participate in Pokémon battles themselves! Tetsunokoube joins the battle and uses Air Slash to KO Zarude, allowing Renda to get a Zarude Frienda pick of his very own! These Support Pokémon Tickets really are something else! Notes This chapter can be read for free on the CoroCoro Comics website. There was no chapter in the previous issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!, making this the third chapter. This chapter was included as part of the "Pokémon Frienda Version 3 Super Walkthrough Book" (ポケモンフレンダ3だん超攻略BOOK), a supplemental booklet that came with the January 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! The Tetsunokoube Support Pokémon Ticket featured in the comic is the same one that came packaged in the January 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! and is featured heavily on the cover of both the magazine itself and the booklet that contains the manga.

Renda manages to win his first ever Terastal pick, a four star Gothitelle! The young player, with the ever-faithful Friender-Man by his side, starts up a new game of Pokémon Frienda so he can try it out right away. During the first battle an icon appears on the arcade cabinet’s touch screen that challenges Renda to hit the points on a Terastal star icon in a certain order in order to Terastalize his Pokémon. When he succeeds, the “Attack Roulette” that appears over Renda’s newly Terastalized Pokémon suddenly has much higher numbers than usual and enables Terastal Gothitelle to use a Tera Blast attack that ends up being ultra super effective! Renda and his Terastal Gothitelle continue to win their way through the rest of the game, eventually winding up at the final boss of that particular playthrough, a five star Terastal Ogerpon! After exchanging a few blows the two sides are severely weakened to the point that whoever gets to attack first in the next round will be the one to win the match! Renda works frantically to make sure he gets that coveted slot and, after some feverish button pushing, succeeds in having his Idainakiba strike with Close Combat. Renda’s in-game character throws a Super Ball at the K.O.’ed Ogerpon and succeeds in getting the Legendary Pokémon, causing the arcade cabinet to spit out a real life Terastal Ogerpon pick! As Renda marvels at his new Terastal pick, Friender-Man makes some announcements regarding some upcoming Pokémon Frienda releases. Notes

Renda's gotten his hands on the April 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!, meaning he also has in his possession the Pokémon Frienda Melmetal pick that came packaged inside! The young game enthusiast wastes no time putting his newest Pokémon pick to the test and so he and Friender-Man find two Pokémon Frienda arcade cabinets next to each other and start up a new playthrough. Renda easily makes his way through a wave of Pokémon using his Melmetal, defeating one opponent after the other, until he reaches a final boss challenge: a 5-Star Kyurem! Both Renda and Friender-Man decide to face off against Kyurem in a "Treasure Tag Battle" and so Friender-Man teams up with Renda for the first time ever. Renda decides to take on Kyurem with Zarude, Melmetal, and Ogerpon while Friender-Man goes with Brigarron, Sakebushippo, and Gigaiath. In their first turn, the players realize that this being a Treasure Tag Battle means they now have double the chances of dealing higher attack damage! After taking a super effective attack the 5-Star Pokémon retaliates with a powerful Blizzard. Before long the Get Gauge pops up, allowing Renda and Friender-Man to unleash one more series of super effective attacks before their in-game character throws a Hyper Ball to get the Legendary Pokémon. The attempt succeeds, earning both Renda and Friender-Man one Kyurem pick apiece! Now that the two have successfully won the match Friender-Man takes to the streets to recruit other players to join him in future Treasure Tag Battles. Notes

This chapter was included as part of the "Pokémon Frienda Wave 4 Fierce Battle Book" (ポケモンフレンダ4弾激バトルBOOK), a supplemental booklet that came with the April 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! The Melmetal Support Pokémon pick featured in the comic is the same one that came packaged in the April 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! and is featured heavily on the cover of both the magazine itself and the booklet that contains the manga.
This chapter marks the first time in the series that Renda's ever seen Friender-Man actually play the Pokémon Frienda arcade game. In the Pokémon Frienda arcade game, a "Treasure Tag Battle" is one in which two players sitting at arcade cabinets next to each other are able to join forces to take on a powerful opponent. Both players play the Attack Roulette, just like in a standard one player battle, but the damage done by the attacks used that turn is determined by whichever player gets a higher number. Monster Ball selection works in a similar way; whichever player lands on the better Monster Ball determines what Balls the two players will use. Top

On the way home from school one day Renda runs into his mentor Friender-Man, who reminds him that April 24th is the day Pokémon Frienda Wave 5 comes out! The June 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! comes packaged with a Tetsunoihara Support Ticket they can use in the new wave and so they rush over to a nearby arcade to try it out. Before they start, however, Friender-Man recommends Renda register a Trainer Pick so his data can be carried over across multiple playthroughs. Renda starts the character creation process at a Pokémon Frienda cabinet, and at the end chooses Nyahoja as his starter. Now that he’s registered Renda can start playing! He soon finds himself up against a Daikenki, Harabarie, and Kairiky, so he scans his new Tetsunoihara Support Ticket and then chooses his team of Chaoboo, Glacia, and Pixy. Renda's Pokémon are thankfully able to withstand Daikenki's Hydro Pump attack, so Renda counters with Pixy's Draining Kiss. A “second attack” chance roulette pops up on the screen and lands on Tetsunoihara, allowing Renda to hit his opponents with its powerful Leaf Blade attack! The battle continues, and eventually ends with Renda earning his very own Daikenki pick. After the game's over a Results Screen pops up that includes a gauge that has Nyahoja on one end and Nyarote on the other. Does this mean the more he plays, the closer he gets to having his starter evolve? Friender-Man teases that he'll just have to play to find out! Notes

The Tetsunoihara Support Pokémon Ticket featured in the comic is the same one that came packaged in the June 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! and is featured on the cover of the magazine. ![]() This chapter was included in the actual pages of CoroCoro Ichiban! itself, not in the supplemental booklet that came packaged with the magazine. This is the first time a new chapter's been printed this way since the debut chapter in the September 2024 issue. According to Friender-Man's dialogue on Page 52 this chapter takes place on April 24th, 2025 (レンダくん! 今日は4月24日!待ちに待ったポケモンフレンダ5だんの稼働日なんだよ!). The issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! it was printed in, meanwhile, came out a few days earlier on April 21st. The screenshot of the character creation screen shown on Page 58 implies that Renda is seven years old. Top

Renda sits in front of a Pokémon Frienda machine, wondering about the best Pokémon to use against a Fairy-Type. Suddenly, Friender-Man appears out of nowhere and shows off the type matchup chart included in this month’s issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! A Tetsunokashira Support Ticket is also printed on the back of the chart, making this single piece of cardboard quite handy! Renda starts up a new Pokémon Frienda game and comes up against a Brimuon, Mafitiff, and Goriky. He uses his handy type chart to figure out that Fairy-Types are weak against Poison and Steel-Types and so he chooses Datsudasu and its Sludge Attack to get a super effective hit against all three of his opponents! Friender-Man then tells Renda that he might not always have his type matchup chart on him and so he’d better get to work memorizing Pokémon type matchups. To that end, Friender-Man teaches Renda a bunch of strange poses to help him remember each Pokémon type! Renda continues making his way through the game, and while he is getting the hang of type matching his Nutre’s defeated, causing him to have to break out his new Tetsunokashira. Eventually Renda comes across Xerneas, the final boss of this particular playthrough. He has his Tetsunokashira use Tachyon Cutter and Tetsunodokuga use Sludge Wave to score super effective hits, enabling Renda to emerge victorious. At the battle results screen, Renda finds out he’s earned enough stars for the Nyahoja stored on his Trainer Pick to evolve into Nyarote! Notes

18 pages Renda comes across Friender-Man one day, and when it’s revealed that Renda got the new Houou pick that comes packaged with the September/October 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! the two drop everything and rush to the nearest arcade. There, Friender-Man tells Renda that the game has undergone a bit of a name change; it’s now known as “Pokémon Frienda Best Tag Version 1.” Renda starts up a game and is amazed at how easily his new Houou’s able to defeat his opponent’s Meganium, but then when it’s time to collect his post-game victory pick Renda's surprised to see that not only is there a Meganium on it, but there's also a Masquernya as well...!? Friender-Man explains that with "Best Tag Version 1," there are these things called "Tag Techniques" in which picks with two Pokémon printed on them are able to be used to launch powerful combination attacks. Renda tries this out right away by using the two Grass-Types' attacks to deal double the damage to his opponents, with great results. The two players continue their way through the game, eventually coming across a Jiraachi, and so Renda uses his Houou and Friender-Man his Lugia (which he got from Pokémon Fan Issue 94) to take on the Mythical Pokémon. The two players have to combine the strength of all their Pokémon to take down Jiraachi but they eventually succeed, earning a Jiraachi pick for their efforts. What other secrets lie within this new "Best Tag Version 1" of the game? Notes This chapter can be read for free on the CoroCoro Comics website. 18 Pages Friender-Man is mentoring a young elementary school boy, Mamo Arino, as he prepares to play the Pokémon Frienda arcade game for the first time. He even has the special Koraidon Support Ticket that came with this month's issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! Mamo starts his very first playthrough against an Absol, Rikukurage, and Tandon. He places the Support Ticket on the arcade cabinet's scanner and then, since he doesn't have any Frienda Picks of his own yet, borrows some Rental Pokémon for his match; Pelipper, Ikirinko, and Gusokumusha. Pelipper's strong against the Rock-Type Tandon so he has it use its Water Pulse attack to score a super effective hit! As the game continues, Mamo keeps encountering all sorts of in-game pop ups -- bonus attack roulettes (which he isn’t able to get the timing right on), "Get Chance" (he gets a Tandon of his own), and "Trade Chance" (he then trades that Tandon with the computer’s Lugalgan) -- until he gets to a final match against a group of Pokémon lead by a Haganeil. A second bonus attack roulette appears, so Mamo focuses to be able to activate his Koraidon! The Support Pokémon uses its Axel Brake to attack everyone on the opponent's side, giving Mamo another chance at getting a new Pokémon. This second attempt is also successful, giving Mamo a Four-Star Haganeil with a Mega Evolution mark on it! Now that Mamo's experienced his first Pokémon Frienda playthrough he declares he’ll get as good at the game as Friender-Man! Notes The Koraidon Support Pokémon Ticket featured in the comic is the same one that came packaged in the November/December 2025 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! and is featured on the cover of the magazine. ![]() | Story Synopsis | Characters | About the
