Episode Comparison:  "A Shipful of Shivers"
May 22nd, 2022

Dogasu @ 00:40 JST -- It's once again time to take a look at the differences between the Japanese versions and English versions of an old Orange Islands episode of the original Pocket Monsters series! This month's episode is "A Shipful of Shivers."

How does an episode that intrinsically deals with ghosts and dead people fare when aired on kids' TV in the early 2000s? Click on the link above to find out!

"Pocket Monsters" The Animated Series Original Soundtrack Vol. 2
May 22nd, 2022

Dogasu @ 00:40 JST -- A second CD collection of Yuki Hayashi's background music from the Pocket Monsters (2019) animated series, "Pocket Monsters" The Animated Series Original Soundtrack Vol. 2, was recently announced for a June 22nd, 2022 release date.

"Pocket Monsters" The Animated Series Original Soundtrack Vol. 2

Here is what composer Yuki Hayashi had to say about this release on the special website created for the CD:

Filling up this release with a bunch of different music was, just like the last time, reminiscent of dumping out the contents of a toy box! I really gave it my all to make this second batch of music even more energetic and even more epic than before. I hope the soundtrack to our heroes' adventures can someday become the soundtrack to its listeners' adventures as well. And even though this will be the last one I was honored to be able to do my own arrangements of some fantastic game music this time as well!

The CD's full track list has been added to the CD Guide.

Indigo Footprints in the Snow -- Episode 01 Full Cast, Staff Credits
May 19th, 2022

Dogasu @ 23:45 JST -- The first episode of the new animated mini-series based on Pokémon Legends Arceus, a series that I'm currently choosing to translate as Indigo Footprints in the Snow, premiered on YouTube last night and so I've updated my section of the site with the episode's full cast and staff credits!

"Indigo Footprints in the Snow" Episode 1

The fact that the English dubbed upload of the episode included romanized credits right there at the end of the episode itself (instead of, say, a Twilight Wings-type situation where I had to end up relying on the Korean version of all things) were a huge, huge help.

The next episode of the series is scheduled to come out Wednesday, June 8th.

Pokémon Radio Show! The Rocket-Dan's Secret Empire -- Vol. 4
May 9th, 2022

Dogasu @ 09:15 JST -- This is coming out a bit later than I would have liked but here's my write-up for the July 22nd, 2012 episode of Pokémon Radio Show! The Rocket-Dan's Secret Empire.

Pokémon Radio Show! The Rocket-Dan's Secret Empire

The main attraction here is the interview with Yuuji Ueda, the man behind the voices of characters like Takeshi, the Rocket-Dan's Sonansu, and many others!

Part of this reason this write-up is so late is because of real world commitments (I started a new job in April and have been very busy with that) and part of it is because there was even more content to cover this time around compared to the previous episodes. You see, the way I usually do these write-ups is I'll listen to the radio version of the episodes first, do my first draft based on that, and then listen to the CD version to double check that there aren't any significant differences between the two. Up until now there haven't really been any but this time around the CD versions of both the special guest interview and the Double-Q merchandise segment had additional content! So truth be told the episode's write-up probably would have been late even if I hadn't been logging in so much overtime at work lately.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!
