Translation Tuesdays:
Pokemon Pia Interviews (Part 1)

Dogasu @ 21:46 JST -- A nasty tonsil infection knocked me out of commission for most of last week but I'm back now with a new (old) interview translation!
The first translation I have is an interview with the late Unshou Ishizuka, the voice of Dr. Ookido, from the magazine / book Pokemon Pia. What was his most memorable TV show / movie? What character did he wish he could play again? How does he feel his performance has changed over the years? All that and more can be found in this interview!
This is also the only interview I have among all my books / magazines with Mr. Ishizuka. He just never did a lot of Pocket Monsters-related press stuff over the years.
This Pokemon Pia book, by the ways, contains a whopping fourteen interviews (13 cast members and then director Yuyama) so it's something I'll be going back to again and again over the next few weeks. I think for next week I'll post the interview with Kasumi's and Takeshi's voice actors from the book...?

Dogasu @ 22:26 JST -- Hey! Let's try restarting this whole Translation Tuesdays thing I've been slacking off on lately!
This week I've done a complete overhaul of my page for the Generation 2 pokemon. For years I simply listed (my amateurish attempts at romanizing) the Japanese names and then English names and called it a day but these days I want to do more. I've already added things like pictures and detailed breakdowns of what the names mean for Generation 1 and 7 and so I hope to be able to do the same for all the generations in between.
Next week the plan is to translate an Unshou Ishizuka interview from a magazine that came out last year to celebrate the release of Pocket Monsters The Movie "I Choose You!" Until then!
Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" Spoiler-Filled Synopsis

Dogasu @ 07:36 JST -- This is something that's been sitting at like 98% complete for the past month or so but just never got around to posting; a full, spoiler-filled synopsis for Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story."
My goal was to create the most comprehensive synopsis of the film while also making it something people will actually sit down and read. Let me know how I did!
Pocket Monsters The Movie "Everyone's Story" was released in theaters on July 13th, 2018 in Japan and will be released on Blu-ray / DVD on December 19th. The English language dub hits theaters in the U.S. in November under the title "The Power of Us."
