Red Genosect (赤いゲ ノセ クト) / Red Genesect

Japanese VA:  Yamadera Kou'ichi

Red Genosect  Red Genosect

The Red Genosect is special colored Genosect who makes its debut in The Extreme Speed Genosect and the Awakening of Mewtwo

Genosect was a pokemon who lived three million years ago who was brought back to the modern age by the Plasma-Dan.  The Red Genosect is faster than a regular Genosect and is able to transform into its "High-Speed Flight Form" (高速飛行形態), seen on the right, to increase its speed even further.  The Red Genosect is the leader of the Genosect group.

Genosect (ゲノセ クト) / Genesect

Japanese VA:  Morohoshi Sumire (Water), Watanabe Akeno (Ice), Furushima Kiyotaka (Flame), and Satou Kensuke (Thunder)

Genosect

Genosect is a pokemon who existed three million years ago and was recreated by the Plasma-Dan.  By changing out the casettes on the cannon mounted on its back, Genosect is able to change the Type of its "Techno Buster" attack.  There are four casettes altogether; the Lightning Casette (イナズマカセット), the Blaze Casette (ブレイズカセット), the Freeze Casette (フリーズカセット), and the Aqua Casette (アクアカセット).

There are four regular Genosect in The Extreme Speed Genosect and the Awakening of Mewtwo and one Red Genosect.  The Red Genosect acts as the other Genosect's leader.

Mewtwo (ミュウツー)

Japanese VA:
  Takashima Reiko

Mewtwo Mewtwo Awakened

Mewtwo is a pokemon created from the genes of the legendary pokemon Mew.  Not only has its fighting power has been raised to be as high as it can be, but it is also said to be the only pokemon whose speed can match that of the Red Genosect.

Mewtwo also "awakens" and changes into a new form.  What triggers this transformation, and what new abilities will it gain?

Director Yuyama Kunihiko had this to say about the character on the movie's official website:

When you think about the Mewtwo from the first movie, "Mewtwo Strikes Back," you think about lines like "Who am I?" and how there was this running theme of Mewtwo wondering about itself and how it relates to the world around it.

The Mewtwo in this film has actually gone out into the world and has expanded its worldview.  It's started to be concerned about the world and about others around it, and when you compare it to the previous Mewtwo, you'll definitely feel like it's gotten past one of its limitations.

This Mewtwo is not the same Mewtwo from the first movie.  What part will this Mewtwo, who's actually gone out into the world, play in this movie?

"This Mewtwo is not the same Mewtwo from the first movie" could be interpreted several ways.  Does the director mean that in the literal sense and is saying that there are now two Mewtwo, despite how that really wouldn't make any sense?  Or does he mean they're not the same in the sense that the Mewtwo in this movie is a more mature, open minded character than the more introverted and angry Mewtwo we saw in the first movie?

Yamirami (ヤミラミ) / Sableye

Japanese VA:  Sanpei Yuuko

Yamirami

Yamirami is a pokemon who befriends Satoshi and his friends during the course of the movie.  It lives in the Pokemon Hills area of New Tork City.
