Pokemon The Movie XY "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie" (ポケモン・ザ・ムービーXY「破壊の繭とディアンシー」) is an adaptation of the movie of the same name. Diancie meets Satoshi and Pikachu and set out together on a journey to seek out the "Life Giving Pokemon" Xerneas to get help saving her country. Along the way, however, a female thief named Marilyn, a ninja thief named Riot, and the Rocket-Dan all set their sights on the diamond-making pokemon. As the journey continues, the "Destruction Pokemon" Yveltal, who is said to have been behind a major loss of life in the Kalos Region in times past, waits patiently inside its cocoon... Surprisingly, Inoue Momota (井上桃太), who has been in charge of the manga adaptations of the movies since The Master of Illusions, Zorro'ark back in 2010, will not be working on the Diancie movie manga. It will instead be written and drawn by newcomer to the franchise Kitamura Kenji (北村謙次). Ms. Inoue's adaptations tended to be faithful to the source material, more or less; will Mr. Kitamura's adaptation follow the movie as closely? Part One was released in the June 2014 issue of CoroCoro Comics (on sale May 15th, 2014) and Part Two was released in the July 2014 issue of CoroCoro (on sale June 13th, 2014). A third part and final part will be printed in the graphic novel release. A graphic novel collection will come out on July 19th, 2014. Click on a link below to learn more. |
