The booklet that came with the CD release of "Pocket Monsters Liko's and Roy's Adventure" Animated Series Original Soundtrack included a few pages of liner notes from composer Conisch.
Below is a translation of the original Japanese notes.
Music is a lot like a mysterious creature...
Music is a power, not unlike magic, that lets you communicate with others even without using any words. It's a lot like the Pokémon themselves, actually. Now, there are also songs that have lyrics and therefore actually do use words to communicate ideas. And with Pokémon, those "words" take the form of things like battles and adventures that allow us grow closer to them.
I wrote the comments below to help you understand the message behind each song. I hope you'll read along as you listen to this soundtrack and allow your imagination to run wild. Liko's and Roy's adventure will continue on!

Music is a lot like a mysterious creature...
Music is a power, not unlike magic, that lets you communicate with others even without using any words. It's a lot like the Pokémon themselves, actually. Now, there are also songs that have lyrics and therefore actually do use words to communicate ideas. And with Pokémon, those "words" take the form of things like battles and adventures that allow us grow closer to them.
I wrote the comments below to help you understand the message behind each song. I hope you'll read along as you listen to this soundtrack and allow your imagination to run wild. Liko's and Roy's adventure will continue on!

The reason Liko hesitates so much is because she understands what's in people's hearts. Nevertheless, at this moment she's taking a step forward.

Liko's thoughts will be answered by song. There's a breeze in the air, the path forward is lit up, and the gears of her story have started to move.

Even when it's raining or there's a storm, all that's left to do is push on ahead! So become friends with the lightning and let it guide the way. Welcome to your unpredictable journey!
10) Battle! (Trainer Battle) ~ Animated Series Ver. (戦闘！トレーナー～Tv Anime Ver.)
At first, you don't know what you're doing no matter how much you think about it. So you gotta start off by taking some sort of action first. In other words, let's battle!

12) A Dauntless Pokémon Battle (不屈のポケモンバトル)
Battles always pop up out of nowhere. Use your perseverance to grab ahold of victory!

Your anxiety and frustration's coming in loud and clear. That's because the two of us, we're connected. So let's get through this together.
14) C'Mon Brave Asagi, Full Speed Ahead! (進め！ブレイブアサギ号)
The crew's tireless efforts and curiosity are what make this ship move. Their unflappable hearts help raise and nurture us little by little.
15) Surprise Attack! The Feast of the Strong (急襲！猛者たちの饗宴)
We don't know who they are or why they're in our way but whoever they are, they're strong! They're starting to close in...what do we do now?
16) The Strong Enemy Standing in Your Way (立ちはだかる強敵)
We all have reasons why we have to fight. All together now...attack!
17) Horrible Schemes (おそろしい企み)
The Explorers scurrying around behind the scenes all look up to Gibeon. But what is he after?
18) The Secret of Terastal (テラスタルの秘密)
There's a mysterious door somewhere that had been hidden away. We heard it opening, fleetingly but solemnly.

Blossoming talent! The power spilling forward is overwhelming!
