Dogasu's Backpack | Episode Comparisons | Jouto Region

Sometime around 2017-ish a newly edited version of the Jouto episode "The Ice Cave" began showing up on Japanese streaming services like Amazon Prime. In this newer version, Rougela, who was originally animated with black skin, dark blue hands, and red forearms, got recolored so that she now has purple skin, purple hands, and white forearms.

Images taken from the original version is on the left while the late 2010s edit is on the right. Click on each image for a larger version.

It's slight, but it seems like Rougela's forearm was redrawn in this shot. Check out the areas where her wrist connects to her hand.

Even if 4Kids had dubbed this episode I have a feeling this shot would have been cut.

They left the blush as-is when they really should have recolored that as well. The blush was recolored in a similar shot in the Kanto episode "Rougela's Christmas" so why not here as well...?
