Let's have a talk, folks.

For some reason or another, many of you think that I, Dogasu, am the writer of the rant "Yu-Gi-Oh...Another Cardcaptors?"  I've gotten far too many e-mails, guestbook entries, and instant messages from angry Yu-Gi-Oh fans yelling at me for calling the show stupid and that I don't know a thing about "the beauty of anime."

Don't mean to sound rude, but are you people BLIND!?

I mean, look at the rant itself.  Right under the title are the words "By Alan Tse."  Shouldn't that clue some of you in that I'm not the one who wrote that rant?  If it had said "By Dogasu," then I wouldn't be so annoyed.  But it says it right there, "By Alan Tse," clear as crystal.  But the thing is, everyone's accusing me of writing this "horrible anti-Yu-Gi-Oh rant" that I didn't write.  Since it's obvious that no one saw that, I made the credit line ridiculously huge so that you won't miss it.  If you still don't see it, then I suggest you see an optometrist ASAP.

Besides that, I have to wonder--even if, for some reason, you thought that I wrote that rant, would you think that it's an anti-Yu-Gi-Oh rant?  Not once does Alan Tse badmouth the show.  The rant compares to the dub of the show to the original, and talks about how bad the dub is in comparison to the original.  And come on guys, he isn't lying--they changed everyone's names, skipped an entire season, censored the show heavily, replaced all the music, and mistranslated half the dialogue.  Yet people think that saying the dub is bad is saying that the show itself is bad.  If that's the case, then Chris Psaros must be the biggest Dragon Ball Z hater out there, and Dan, Tiff, and Bob really abhor Sailor Moon.  Saying that a company screwed up the dub of a show isn't the same as saying that the show itself sucks--in fact, it's quite the opposite.  If a fan gets upset that a show is significantly altered from its original version, then doesn't that prove that he's a real fan of the show?  If anything, Alan's rant is a PRO-Yu-Gi-Oh rant, not an anti-Yu-Gi-Oh rant.

So, in conclusion, the following rant was written by Alan Tse, not me.  I would like to thank Alan for writing the rant, as it is a good rant, and I hope he can send me stuff in the future.  If you have any feedback to give, give it to him.  If I see any more e-mails/guestbook entries yelling at me for writing that "horrible article," they'll be promptly deleted and ignored.
