Dogasu's Backpack | Rants | Pokemon CDs, Who Needs 'Em?

Lately I've done some thinking and you know what annoys me? All the CDs for Poketto Monsutaa. Now, so far I know of 34 CDs which can be bought (for the record, I need 30 more!), and some of them are just pointless. There is a copy of the "Kesshoutou no Teiou" soundtrack which comes in a tin. I mean, really, what's the point? Plus, take a look at the CD single "Ashita Tenki  ni Shite Okure". It has two tracks; the title track and the karaoke version of the title track. Why not just slap it on the "Kakurenbo" single which was released on the very same day? At least then, there would be 6 tracks on the CD. Then we have the predictibility of some CDs. We all know there will be a "Best Collection 3" CD, don't we. And we all know what will be on it. They'll put on "Ready Go!", "Pokettaari Monsutaari", "Maemuki Roketto Dan!", both versions of "Arata Naru Chikai", "Kakurenbo", "Mezase Pokemon Masutaa 2K1" (TV version), "Ashita Tenki ni Shite Okure", "Manatsu no Dai Sakusen", the opening  and ending for the fifth mini-movie, and the ending for the 5th movie. Then there'll most likely be an "Ieru ka na?" song for the new Pokemon on the GBA. Plus we have about 3 or 4 more ending themes for the TV show which we know are going to come about. And you never know, there may be a last minute add-on song from one the videos and let's face it, that's exactly what "Bokura Pichu Pichu Burazaazu" on BC2 was. That makes approximately 16-18 songs which we can predict. Surely some surprise would be good. I don't think a lot of these songs deserve to be on the best collection. I don't think Pichu Pika Swing was even good enough to be released, let alone be put on a Best Collection CD! They should put the best song on  all the best collection CDs. We all know the best song, "Kaze to Issho ni". Now, I'm not unhappy about these CDs. I mean, there hasn't been a bad Poketto Monsutaa song yet. There have been pointless songs on the CD singles which haven't even made it on to the TV show or the movies, but we still love them.  They are, to quote the Japanese who make these CDs, WHICKY! The problem is, a lot of these CDs are impossible to find. If you want any, try cdjapan.co.jp and do a catalogue number search. If you want the catalogue numbers, my address is franknfurter@imneverwrong.com. Ja, nee.
