"Yadoking's Day" (ヤドキングのいちにち) is an approximately three minute short that aired on TV-Tokyo on January 1st, 2000. It features the Yadoking from the movie Revelation Lugia.
This short shows the day in the life of the Yadoking from Earthia Island.
Yadoking starts its day by using one of its psychic attacks to lower a coconut for its breakfast. It follows that up by taking a walk around the shrine, smelling some flowers, and taking a nap. A Butterfree that flies by wakes it up so Yadoking walks over to the edge of a cliff, does a few stretches, and jumps into the ocean below to go for a nice swim. It meets some of its Water Pokemon friends and greets them. Yadoking eventually returns to the surface where it enjoys a dinner of seaweed. As the sun sets, Yadoking returns to its cave for a good night's sleep.
Slowking fansite Shamouti Island has an excellent line-by-line breakdown of the short that you should check out.
The short aired on TV-Tokyo on January 1st, 2000 as part of an two and a half special known as New Year's Cartoons! 2000 Pokemon and Bakabon's New Year's Special (アニメでお正月 2000！ポケモンとバカボンのお正月スペシャル) . The special aired from 18:30 until 20:54 and included:
"Yadoking's Day" was never dubbed into English and was therefore never released in any of the countries whose dubs are based on the 4Kids version. Most people seem to agree that the episode's short runtime is the main reason why it was skipped.
Hamada Masatoshi reprises his role as Yadoking.
According to one of the booklets that came with the DVD set Pikachu the Movie Box 1998-2002, Mr. Hamada became too busy to make it back to the studio to record the episode so the staff had to end up going to the location where he was working on a different project to record his part. His lines were eventually recorded in a waiting room.
Yadoking's Day have seen three home releases.
These are the credits as listed on the Japanese fansite Pokeani. I have not been able to independently verify these myself.
