Pocket Monsters Mini-Movie #3
Kesshou Tou no Teiou
("The Emperor of the Crystal Tower, Entei")

"Spell of the Unown"

Pichuu to Pikachuu
("Pichu and Pikachu")

"Pikachu and Pichu"

Main Film Basic Synopsis

The movie tells of a young girl, Mii, who lives by herself in a large mansion after her parents had disappeared.  The large plot of land (Green Field) includes a large tower where the young girl spends most of her time.  While going through her father's old work one day, she attracts a group of  Unown to the tower.  The pokemon hypnotize her to help her get over the grief of her parents' disappearance, convincing her that they are there to grant her a wish.  Mii, who had associated her father with the legendary pokemon Entei, asks the Unown to bring her her father back.  The alphabetic pokemon respond by creating an illusionary Entei to act as her father.  Mii then wishes for a mother, so Entei brings her Satoshi's mother, who had been in the area with her son.

<>Satoshi isn't happy about this, so he goes to the tower to bring her back.  As the young trainer, accompanied by Takeshi and Kasumi, climb the tower, Mii decides to fight back to prevent them from taking her new parents away.  After many battles with illusionary pokemon, Satoshi-tachi finally reaches the top of the tower.  There, Satoshi is able to save his mother and convinces the illusionary Entei that they mean no harm.  The legendary pokemon, now on Satoshi-tachi's side, descends the tower to defeat the Unown responsible for the whole mess.  As the little black pokemon are defeated, Entei disappears, leaving Mii alone again.  However, no sooner does Entei disappear that Mii's real father reappears!  Mii, who is now reunited with her father (and, eventually, her mother) thanks Satoshi-tachi as they continue on their journey through the Jouto region.

Mini Film Basic Synopsis
<>
"Pikachuu to Pichuu" features Pikachu and the Pichu Brothers (the pre-evolved form of Pikachu).  It centers around the two pokemon in a big city, an overwhelming place for the two mouse pokemon.  The pokemon play with many other pokemon, outrun a Derubiru, and make many new friends as the day draws near.  Pikachu must eventually part with his new friends to return to Satoshi, who surprises it by throwing it a party celebrating the anniversary of their first meeting!

Notes

"Emperor of the Crystal Tower" was the #3 movie in Japan on its opening weekend.  At the end of the movie was a brief preview of Movie #4 and of the Nintendo 64 game Pocket Monsters Stadium 3

The American version of the movie had very little advertising (compared to the huge advertising campaigns that existed for the first two movies) and placed the lowest on its opening weekend of the first three movies.
