Release Date: February 21st, 2012 25 pages The Gym Leader's assault begins!
Black is ordered to take care of the Plasma-Dan grunts who had
infiltrated the museum and stop them from getting their hands on the
Dark Stone while they take care of the Dark Trinity. The trinity,
meanwhile, sees that they're up against six Gym Leaders and decide to
take out the Gym Leaders in pairs. Yakon's Doryuuzu succumb's to
Dredia's Mega Drain attack but is saved when Kamitsure's Emonga swoops
in with Acrobat. Later, Hachiku steps forward with his Freezio
and has it create a chain made of ice to tie up the Plasma-Dan
trio. The Gym Leaders begin to question the Trinity but realize
that they're not defeated yet; suddenly, Tornelus, Voltus, and Landlus
descend from the sky! The trio of legendary pokemon whip up a
wind storm that incapacitates the Gym Leaders and breaks the chains
holding the Dark Trinity. Black hears the commotion and runs
outside to help. His Charbu charges forward and kicks Landlus,
but the legendary pokemon barely notices. Landlus grabs Charbu by
the neck to stop it, so Black's pokemon evolves into Emboar and breaks
free! Meanwhile, N and White's Pokabu arrive at the Dragon Spiral
Tower.

Release Date: March 21st, 2012 25 pages Members of the Plasma-Dan report that
they've been unable to locate the Dark Stone. The Dark Trinity
orders everyone to retreat, so the legendary pokemon carry the now
unconscious Gym
Leaders away. After they leave, Hachiku appears in front of
Black! The escaped Gym Leader says that he heard there's another
way into the secret room where the Dark Stone is hidden.
Black thinks back to the time he challenged Aloe at her Gym and leads
Hachiku through the same path he took through the library
back then. As soon as the door to the secret room is opened,
Black is attacked by a Shibirudon! Black finds out that Hachiku
was really a Plasma-Dan member in disguise and that he was only using
Black to gain access to the Dark Stone! The Plasma-Dan grunt
hands the Dark Stone to G'Cis, who in turn delivers it to N so he can
finally summon Zekrom. Later, the real Hachiku finds Black passed
out in Aloe's secret room. He contacts his colleague Shaga and
tells him that
the Plasma-Dan didn't notice that the Light Stone was also
hidden in Aloe's secret room. Hachiku then tells Shaga that he'll
begin training Black for the upcoming battle.

Release Date: April 21st, 2012 25 pages Black wakes up on Cylinder Bridge,
wondering what happened. Hachiku recalls the events in Shippou
City and says that he plans to train the young boy so he'll have the
strength to go up against the organization that was able to defeat the
other Gym Leaders so easily. The first part of the training is
for Black to free himself from a chain of ice his Freezio has attached
to Black's left leg. As Black calls on his Emboar to help him,
Hachiku goes to one of the gates at the end of the bridge to talk with
the Souryuu City Gym Leader Shaga. The two discuss the fact that
Black seems to have been chosen by Reshiram and question whether or not
it's wise to break the seal containing it.
Before long, Hachiku announces that he's going to the Plasma-Dan's
"castle" to
see what he can figure out. Meanwhile, Black has his Emboar
switch from Fire-Type attacks to Fighting-Type attacks. With the
help of the vibrations caused by the trains passing by underneath,
Emboar is able to use its Arm Hammer attack to strike Freezio's chain
and smash it to pieces. The first part of Black's training is now
finished!
Notes
Black decides to
nickname his Emboar "Boar" (ブォウ). Hachiku tells Black that with a
name like that, he should be sure to train it like a Bu no Ou (武の王), or "Fighting
King." This pun of his prompts Black to try using Fighting-Type
moves instead of Fire-Type moves later in the chapter.

Release Date: May 21st, 2012 25 pages Hachiku goes to the Dragon Spiral Tower
and finds evidence that the legendary pokemon Zekrom has already been
summoned by the Plasma-Dan. Back on Cylinder Bridge, the doctor
who Hachiku had brought along introduces himself as Teruyuki. As
he treats Black's wounds, Shaga and Iris appear. After battling
with Shaga for a bit and losing, Iris decides to stick with Black so
they can train together. At that moment, Teruyuki announces that
Black's other pokemon have defeated Hachiku's three Vanirich and
completed step two of the training. Shaga leaves for Souryuu
City, telling Black that he'll be waiting for him there. Black
and Iris continue walking on the bridge and run into the bike gang
known as the "Black Empärts." As the group boasts about how
powerful they are, Black has his Dentula, Mun'na, and Protoga work
together to defeat them in the most humiliating way possible.
Teruyuki leads Black and Iris off the bridge and into what is assumed
to be Sekka City. Once there, they go to Hachiku's house and
learn a bit about the Gym Leader's history as a movie star.
Hachiku returns and tells Black that the next step of his training will
be to defeat his ice maze.

A beaten and battered N is trying to
befriend Zekrom while the Seven Sages watch. As he tells the
legendary pokemon his dream of a world in which humans and pokemon are
equal, the expression on Zekrom's face changes. Back at the Sekka
Gym, Black finishes solving the ice maze and makes it to where Hachiku
is waiting. They immediately begin their Gym Battle with a match
between Hachiku's Freezio and Black's Emboar. Using the training
it received back at the Cylinder Bridge, Emboar defeats Freezio with a
powerful Fighting-Type move. Hachiku calls on his Vanirich next,
who is able to freeze its opponent after using its Ice Body
Ability to hide. Black calls on his Mun'na next. As the
battle continues, Black asks Hachiku why he's having to go through all
this training. The Gym Leader reveals that he has possession of
the Light Stone and that he and Shaga were hoping Black would
eventually be able to command Reshiram in battle! Before long,
both Mun'na and Vanirich are defeated, leaving only Black's Protoga and
Hachiku's Tsunbear on the battlefield. Meanwhile, over in Souryuu
City, Shaga's called a press conference to announce that the Pokemon
League will start in one week!
Notes Shaga reveals that the Pokemon League was
originally meant to start in three months from now before he decided to
move it up. Coincidentally, the episode of the TV series that
aired the night this issue of CoroCoro
Ichiban! went on sale (BW 085, "Sing Meloetta! The Melody
of Love!!") reveals that the Pokemon League in that series is meant to start in
three months as well.

Shaga's press conference continues as the
Gym Leader adds that even though the amount of time before the League
is now shorter, the number of badges required to enter will remain the
same. Later, Shaga reveals to his assistant that he pushed the
League up to lure the Plasma-Dan out of hiding. Back in Sekka
City, Black's battle with Hachiku is
about to reach its conclusion. Even though Black's Protoga
evolves into
Abagoura, it's still not quick enough to dodge one of Tsunbear's
powerful punches to the face. Thinking the battle's been decided,
Hachiku tells Black to come back anytime for a rematch. He then
hands over the Light
Stone and tells him to resurrect Reshiram and use it to fight the
Plasma-Dan. Just then, Black smiles - Abagoura wasn't
knocked out by Tsunbear's attack after all! Abagoura uses its
powerful jaws to chomp Tsunbear's claws to bits before running up to
its
surprised opponent and finishing it off. With that, Hachiku hands
over the Icicle Badge! When Iris
sees Black hyping himself up for his final Gym match, she guides him
over to a TV so he can hear Shaga's announcement about the League being
pushed
forward. Black is left speechless.

As Black begins to freak out, Iris and
Hachiku try to convince him to go ahead and revive Reshiram so he can
use it to convince Shaga to let him join the Pokemon League with only
seven badges. Black, however, isn't convinced that he can do all
that in only two weeks. Meanwhile, Adeku and Renbu meet up with
N. A double battle between Adeku's Baffaron and Chevargot and N's
Archaeos and Hihidaruma begins as Baffaron uses Afro Break on
Hihidaruma. The attack causes considerable damage, so N has his
pokemon go into Daruma Mode. Adeku responds by having his
Chevargot break away from its fight with Archaeos to join Baffaron in
delivering a two-sided attack that knocks out N's pokemon. Back
on the road, Black wishes his Wargle was there with him both it and his
Mun'na are the only ones who can truly understand how he feels right
now. Suddenly, White appears and grants his wish by returning his
Wargle to him! As Black and Iris admire how many pokemon White's
been able to catch, the three of them hear a commotion in the distance
and rush over to investigate. When they arrive, they see that
Adeku's been knocked out!

Adeku comes to and sends out
Agilder and has it use Acid Bomb to knock out N's Archaeos. Black
and the others then look around and notice that while Adeku only has
Agilder left, N still has both Zorroa and Zekrom! As soon as
Black
says Zekrom's name, Reshiram appears from out of the Light Stone, lets
out a fiersome roar, and then retreats back to Black's bag! Once
N's surprise at Black having obtained the Light Stone wears off, he
reveals that he won't be using Zekrom in this
battle; instead, he's going to use the Pokabu that used to belong to
White! Agilder tries to take out Bubu-chan first in order to
prevent it from using its Fire-Type attacks on it but is quickly
overtaken when Zorroa tricks it using its Illusion Ability. Adeku
loses the battle, meaning that N has finally achieved his goal of
overtaking the
Champion! As N congratulates himself, White approaches Bubu-chan
and tells it that she'll support it no matter what it decides to
do. Suddenly, Araragi-Hakase's father arrives on the scene and
asks everyone to help him defeat N so they can find out where
the Plasma-Dan is keeping the Gym Leaders!

Araragi-Hakase's father, along with Black
and White, make quick work of N's remaining pokemon. When the
battle's over, his daughter and Makomo arrive on the scene and recall
how they used to have two sets of starter pokemon set aside for
trainers. A year ago, they say, N came to Araragi-Hakase's
father's laboratory and "liberated" the starter pokemon he had
there! The
Pokabu ran away and the Tsutarja left with N, so Araragi-Hakase's
father took
the Mijumaru and decided to raise it himself. Back in the
present, N uses a Revive on all his
pokemon and prepares to go home. Black steps forward to stop him
but is surprised to see his pokemon hesitate to engage in battle.
Black asks Musha to eat his dreams to figure
out a way out of this, but his pokemon refuses! N tells Black
that his Mun'na has grown tired of his dreams and that the two
of them never really had any real bond outside of that in the first
place. Black
watches as Musha floats away, leaving his party and devastating its
trainer. As N makes his escape, he predicts that Black will
appear before him again with Reshiram by his side.

As the doors to the Pokemon League open,
the Four Heavenly Emperors gather to discuss how to deal with the
Plasma-Dan. Eventually, Cattleya presents her Gothilselle to the
group and suggests they use its psychic powers to locate the kidnapped
Gym Leaders. Elsewhere, Black continues to be haunted by the
memory of his Mun'na left him. He announces that he's returning
to Kanoko Town; when White protests, he tells her that he only ever
wanted to win the Pokemon League and that all this stuff about
legendary pokemon and the Plasma-Dan is just way too much for
him. Just then, Black's pokemon - Emboar, Dentula, Wargle, and
Abagoura - approach their trainer with tears in their eyes. Black
realizes that his pokemon wanted to win the Pokemon League just as
badly as he did and decides that he can't give up now. Later,
Black pays a visit to Shaga and challenges him to a Gym Battle, stating
that he technically has until the following day's opening ceremony to
earn his eighth badge. Meanwhile, Cattleya tells the others that
her pokemon has been able to communicate with the Gym Leaders and that
they have a message from them: "Help us."

Due to Shaga's commitments as the sponsor
of the Pokemon League, the Gym Leader only has time for a one-on-one
battle with Black. The match begins, but before long it
becomes painfully obvious that Black's Wargle is no match for Shaga's
Crimgan.
Black is about to concede defeat when Cattleya bursts in and announces
that the captured Gym Leaders want to speak
to him! Through Gothilselle's psychic
powers, the Gym Leaders tell Black that they don't know where they are
but that it's somewhere dark and quiet. They then tell him that
they heard about Musha leaving and convince him that he can't
assume all his pokemon feel the same way about his dreams that his
Mun'na did. Feeling better about himself, Black commands his
Wargle to use Air Slash on the door Cattleya used to get in. The
attack lets snow and cold
air in, paralyzing Crimgan and allowing Wargle to finish it off.
Shaga quickly grabs Black by the collar, drags him in front of a TV
camera, and
announces that a last minute entry is going to be accepted. The
32 contestants begin their elimination battles on Champion Road until,
at last, the Top 8 are announced.
Notes The top eight for the Isshu League are
Handsome (in disguise), Black, Iris, Plasma-Dan Seven Sage Vio, a boy
who seems
to be a mix of the Youngster and PokeManiac trainer classes, a person
in a cloak with an iron mask, Shizui, and Cheren.

As the match-ups for the Best 8 are being
decided, Hachiku leaves to find out where the other Gym Leaders are
being held. Later, it is decided that the first match of the
quarterfinals will be between Black and the mysterious "Handa
Samurou." The emcee explains that trainers at the Pokemon League
are allowed to have up to three pokemon in their party but that they
will lose their match if even one of them faints. He also
announces that whoever wins the League this time will not be required
to battle Adeku to become the Champion! Before long,
the battle between Black's Dentula and Handa Samurou's Gureggru
begins. Dentula puts up an Electric Net to protect itself, but
Gureggru easily blows it away with Vacuum Wave. Black's opponent
begins to pummel Dentula with a barrage of Poison-Type attacks, so he
responds by ordering his pokemon to pull down the still airborne net on
top of its
opponent. Dentula obeys, trapping Gureggru and sending a powerful
electric attack its way. Black is declared the winner, forcing
his opponent to make a hasty exit. Later, Handa Samurou, who's
secretly the International Police Agent "Handsome," continues his
investigation on the League participants...
Notes It is revealed that Vio is going by the
alter ego Gurei (グレイ), or
"Gray," for this tournament.
The name of the young boy is Petashi (ぺタシ), or Petashi, and the hooded man is named Fuudoman (フードマン), or "Hoodman." Handsome's alter ego, Handa Samurou (ハンダ サムロウ), with the space separating the two and everything, seems to be a combination of Handsome's name (ハンサム) and Tarou (タロウ), an extremely common name in Japan not unlike "John Smith." "Handa" is a commonly seen family name as well. Top

The Isshu League continues! The
second round is between Cheren's Kenhorou and Petashi's Monose.
After Cheren defeats his opponent with his pokemon's God Bird attack,
Black notices that his childhood friend is being uncharacteristically
cold toward Petashi. Meanwhile, Handsome continues to watch the
League, particularly the mysterious stranger named "Gray." Round
Three starts soon with Hoodman and Ohbem vs. Shizui and Bluengel.
Shizui thinks he's going to win after using Bluengel's Cursed Body
Ability to disable Ohbem's Energy Ball attack, but his opponent is able
to turn things around with a surprise Shadow Ball attack. The
final
match of the semi-finals is between Iris and Gray. Gray has his
Freezio wrap its ice chain around Iris' Onondo, trapping the
Dragon-Type pokemon! Fortunately, Onondo is able to use its
fangs to cut through the chain and rush forward with a Rock Break
attack that KOs its opponent. As the Top 4 is announced, Hachiku
looks on and wonders if the other Gym Leaders not having any memory of
their kidnapping has something to do with the "Brain Pokemon" Ohbem
that's belongs to Hoodman. White, who is revealed to have been
standing by his side the whole time, offers to help investigate.

Makomo-Hakase, Shouko, and Araragi-Hakase
arrive in a VIP room to watch the Pokemon League. Araragi-Hakase
brings her colleagues up to speed and specifically talks about the
transition White's made from Pokemon Talent Agent to seasoned
battler. Elsewhere, White bumps into Shizui and finds out that
"Hoodman" was able to enter the League without collecting all eight Gym
Badges! White wants to tell Shaga right away, but Shizui stops
her and says that Cheren is even more suspicious! White and
Shizui watch as Cheren defeats Hoodman in the semi-finals.
However, Black, who's also watching the match, notices a number of
unsettling things about his childhood friend during the battle; the
fact that his Tsutarja still hasn't evolved despite it being on the
path to do so, Cheren withdrawing Tsutarja even though it still wanted
to fight, Cheren having no reaction to Petashi cheering for him,
etc. Cheren addresses each of these observations in a cold and
uncaring way, prompting Black to leap onto the battlefield and demand
they settle things right then and there! Meanwhile, the Four
Heavenly Emperors are getting ready to battle whoever wins the Pokemon
League when they notice that the Plasma-Dan has begun to make its
move...

The final match of the Pokemon League
continues! Elsewhere, White sees Hoodman
and Grey together and moves in to get a closer look.
Before long, she gets captured by Grey's Freezio and is taken to its
trainer! Grey then makes the dramatic announcement that he is a
member of the Plasma-Dan, prompting Handsome to spring into action and
arrest him! Unfortunately,
Hoodman uses this opportunity to have his Ohbem Teleport both him
and White out of the room! Back on the battlefield, Cheren
recounts how, after their tag battle at the Refrigerated Container in
Hodomoe City, he began to wonder if the Plasma-Dan
was really as bad as everyone keeps saying they are. He meets up
with one
of the Seven Sages and is eventually brought to see N resurrect Zekrom,
an event that causes him to want to obtain more power and become
stronger. Back at the Pokemon League,
Black is saved when his Musharna returns to him and uses its Dream Mist
to
knock Cheren out. At that moment, the anger that Black feels
toward the
Plasma-Dan for using his friend and kidnapping his boss ignites a fire

over to where Grey, aka Seven Sage Vio, is tied up to find out where
the missing Gym Leaders are. During Black's interrogation, it is
revealed that Shaga and Iris have evacuated the league spectators to
the Four Heavenly Emperors' area to keep them safe. Meanwhile
Hachiku, who's worried about White after losing contact with her,
ventures underneath the Pokemon League to find her. There,
Hachiku is ambushed by the rest of the Seven Sages and taken
hostage. Back upstairs, a terrible rumbling shakes the stadium as
a massive castle rises up from beneath the ground and walls off the
Pokemon League on all sides! G'Cis, N, and the rest of the
Plasma-Dan descend from N's Castle and, after taking everyone hostage,
displays the captured Gym Leaders up on crucifixes! Elsewhere,
Hoodman appears before the Four Heavenly Emperors and brings out the
Kami Trio to keep them busy so the Plasma-Dan can continue to act
unhindered. As G'Cis tells Black about how hopeless his situation
is, the various trainers Black's met throughout his journey burst onto
the scene and offer to rescue the Gym Leaders! Now able to move
freely, Black sets his sights on N and Zekrom!

This chapter is five pages longer than
most chapters of the Black & White Pocket Monsters Special chapters.

against Natsumi and the other trainers. With the help of Black's
pokemon, the seven trainers are able to distract the Plasma-Dan long
enough to enable Shohko's Minezumi to eat through the ropes trapping
the Gym Leaders. Above, Renbu, Cattleya, and Shikimi of the Four
Heavenly Emperors interrupt Black's and N's battle to tell them that
they now know where White's being kept! Inside N's room, White
wakes up to see Helene and Verbena, N's attendants, watching over
her. Suddenly, Bubu-chan approaches White and indicates that it
wants to return to the world of acting! Elsewhere, the Gym
Leaders are helping wrap up the battle with the Seven Sages when Giima
is revealed to have been working with Hoodman the entire time!
But the Gigigearl that's usually under Hoodman has been replaced with a
much faster pokemon...? Back on the battlefield, N's Zorroa
rushes forward and disrupts the battle, showing N that there really are
pokemon who are happier being together with humans. N asks Black
to forgive him and says he has to think long and hard about his next
move before hopping on his Zekrom and flying off into the rising sun.
