Miyamoto never had any pokemon.

Information:  Miyamoto was a member of the Rocket-Dan long before the Pocket Monsters anime began, back when the Rocket-Dan was just starting out.  Miyamoto was a top-ranking agent whose unit made recordings of the pokemon noises in a South American jungle.  Recordings were made to determine where various pokemon were located, as the thick jungle environment made it difficult to track them visually.  Miyamoto was able to pick out the faint sound from one of the recordings, the sound of the phantom pokemon Myuu! On'na-Boss, the leader of the Rocket-Dan at the time, wanted a better recording so that she could sell the pokemon's song and make lots of money.  It was determined that Myuu had moved from the jungle to the nearby Andes Mountains, so Miyamoto left right away with a three-person team to get a better recording.

Up in the mountains, Miyamoto gets separated from the other Rocket-Dan members.  The blizzard rages on, but Miyamoto remains tenacious and doesn't give up.  Suddenly, the blizzard subsides long enough for Myuu to show itself!  Miyamoto is happy that she can finally capture Myuu's voice, but the pokemon vanishes before Miyamoto gets a chance to.  The blizzard returns, the sound of an avalanche is heard, and Miyamoto's scream is the last thing we hear of Musashi's mother.

Miyamoto cared for her daughter very much and wanted her to have only the best.  She put Musashi up for adoption early (probably because her father was already dead), probably so that she can spend more time working to earn Musashi some nice things.  In fact, the only thought keeping Miyamoto going in the harsh mountains is the thought of her daughter and all of the bills she has to pay.  Miyamoto wasn't an evil member of the Rocket-Dan, she just wanted what's best for her daughter.

Miyamoto is presumed to be dead, but if she's half as tough as her daughter, she probably found a way to survive the avalanche...

Pocket Monsters was not created by me.  It was created by Satoshi Tajiri and the crew at TV-Tokyo.  Pokemon is (c) Game Freak, Nintendo, 4Kids Productions, Hasbro, Bandai, and a ton of other companies. When you have a popular anime like Pokemon, lots of people own it so it's impossible to list every company who owns a piece of Pokemon.  No infringement of copyrights is meant by the creation of the web site.  All images were gotten from official websites (Nintendo, TV-Tokyo, etc.) unless otherwise noted (I don't steal images from other sites!).
