In
the episode entitled "Pokémon Fashion Flash,"
4Kids pretty much rid Scissor Street of any and all Japanese
writing.
The
original Japanese version
is on the left, while the edited dub version is on the right. Click on each

Quite
a few pieces of text were erased from this pan shot.
On the left side, the sign that says "Salon" beside the picture of
Booster has been erased. Further down, the vertical sign that
says "Free Free" (?) has also had its text erased. A little bit
of illegible text has been removed from the two signs beside the the
picture of Beedle. The Beedle sign got some scribbles
erased as well.
In the center, an illegible sign right below the door has had its
"text" removed.
On the right, a little bit of the scribbling under the picture of Dodo
has been erased. Further down, the words "Pika Pika" have been
removed from between the two images of Pikachu. Also, the sign in
the foreground that says "Pocket Monsters," in English letters, has
been changed to read "Pokemon" instead. Finally, the sign in
front of the "Pocket Monsters" building has had its scribbles erased.
|

|

|
The
word "Pika Pika" (ピカピカ) has been removed from the Pikachu sign.
The word
"Beedle" (ビードル), as well as the letters PM (for Pocket Monsters), has been erased.
The "king" (キング) - as in Koiking -
has
been removed from the sign with the picture of Koiking on it. The
two signs in between the Koiking building and the crab building have
been erased completely. Finally, the sign beside the crab that
said "Free Free" (フリーフリー) has had its text erased.
|

|

|
The
sign that floats by also gets a massive paint edit. The Japanese
sign over there says "Pokemon Beautician - Pippi" (ポケモンエステ ピッピ).
You'd think
the English version would have put a Clefairy on their sign instead of
a random Eevee, but that's 4Kids for ya.
|

|

|
The
word "Love" (ラブ) has been erased from the orange sign in the
center. On the very left of the shot, the word "flower" (花) has
been erased as well.
|
The poster advertising
the Rocket-Dan's salon had some work done to it.

|

|
"Beauty
Salon Lovely-Charmy" (ビューティーサロンラブリーチャーミー) got erased, as well as the
text above the arrow that says "This way" (そこスグ).
|

|

|
Same
text, different shot.
|
The Lovely-Charmy Salon got a number of edits as well.

|

|
The
blue sign in the foreground says "Beauty Salon Lovely-Charmy."
The little bit of text beside the arrow says "This way." This was
replaced by a stylized R for
the dub. The big pink heart over the salon itself says the name
of the salon, "Lovely-Charmy." It, too, has been replaced by a
stylized heart. Finally, the orange sign on the right said
"Pokemon Pi-something." This text was erased for the dub.
|

|

|
The
big pink heart and the text on the awning both say "Lovely-Charmy."
|

|

|
"Lovely-Charmy's"
written on the counter there.
|

|

|
"Lovely-Charmy,"
again.
