Important Characters:  Lily (Lily)

Continuing his journey to Fusube City, Satoshi-tachi bumps into a Pokemon Magician named Lily (spelled Ri-ri-i).  The somewhat eccentric girl is excited to find a Pikachu since she needs one to complete her newest spell, one that will enable any human to read the minds of any pokemon.  However, there are still a few ingredients missing, so Satoshi-tachi decide to help her find them.  First Satoshi uses his Pikachu to extract the Stun Powder from a Parasect, and then Lily takes the dirt from Nyasu's paws.  Next they need the tears of an Eipamu, but the Rocket-Dan kidnap both the pokemon and Lily's spell bag before it can be extracted.  Musashi-tachi try a number of tactics to get the monkey pokemon to cry, but none of them have any effect.  Satoshi-tachi arrive and send the Rocket-Dan blasting off, making the Eipamu burst out laughing.  The tears from its laughter are caught in a bottle, so now Lily can perform her spell!  Satoshi volunteers to be to be the first to try it out, but something goes awry!  Apparently there was an additional page of instructions that Lily had overlooked, so the spell ended up turning Satoshi into a Pikachu!  Lily reveals that the spell will wear off soon enough, so Satoshi enjoys playing with the other pokemon in the meantime.

Thoughts
Well...I actually don't have the Japanese version of this episode, which is a shame because I'm sure that if I did, I could tell you all about the jokes that Kojirou used to try to get Eipamu to laugh.  Ah well.  I liked the Cardcaptor Sakura-esque outfit Musashi had on during her motto, and I loved the eighties group reference made by Meowth in the dub.  Well, since there's no comparison to read here, let's go to the next one!
